  • Phillies' Trea Turner: Slugs 19th homer in loss

Turner went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Mets.

Turner jumped on a hanging sinker from Luis Severino in the top of the third and sent it into the stands in left-center field to tie the game at 2-2. It marked the shortstop's 19th home run on the campaign and his fourth in the month of September, where he's slashing .290/.338/.507 with 10 RBI and 11 runs scored. Turner has also hit safely in each of his last five games.

  • Phillies' Taijuan Walker: Allows four homers in loss

Walker (3-7) took the loss against the Mets on Thursday, allowing eight runs on six hits and three walks over 3.1 innings while striking out two. He also hit a batter with a pitch.

Walker had a hard time with the Mets' lineup right out of the gate, surrendering back-to-back home runs to Matt Vientos and Pete Alonso with two outs in the opening frame. The right-hander would again be victimized by the long ball in the third and fourth innings before being relieved by Jose Ruiz. The eight runs allowed marked a season high for Walker, as did the four home runs he coughed up on the night. He's now allowed 13 runs over his last two starts (with his previous start coming back on Aug. 28).

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Finishing season at Triple-A

Kemp was promoted from Double-A Reading to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sept. 6.

The promotion was an early birthday present, as Kemp turned 25 a few days later. Injuries in high school and college led to Kemp taking a circuitous route to gaining legitimate prospect status, but this year he logged a 173 wRC+ at High-A and a 137 wRC+ at Double-A before hitting a bit of a wall initially against Triple-A pitching (14 Ks, .167 AVG in 10 games). A quality defender at third base, Kemp can also handle the keystone and has good instincts on the bases. Given his age, we can largely throw out what he did in the lower levels, but Kemp's .258/.353/.476 slash line, 11 home runs, nine steals and 22.7 percent strikeout rate in 64 games at Double-A was good enough to get him on the radar for 2025.

  • Phillies' Alec Bohm: Knocks homer in loss

Bohm went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Brewers.

Bohm had the Phillies' lone run with a solo shot in the second inning off Freddy Peralta. Bohm has gone 2-for-11 with two strikeouts over three games since he returned from a hand injury that cost him a couple of weeks. The third baseman is up to 14 homers, 90 RBI, 60 runs scored, five stolen bases, 44 doubles and a .288/.341/.461 slash line through 134 contests this season.

  • Phillies' Aaron Nola: Unlucky to take no-decision

Nola allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out nine over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Wednesday.

Nola's lone mistake was a Rhys Hoskins solo home run in the fifth inning. This was Nola's best of four starts so far in September, though he's given up six homers over 21 innings this month. The veteran right-hander is now at a 3.54 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 183:48 K:BB through 188.1 innings over 31 starts. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Cubs.

  • Phillies' Cal Stevenson: Hitting bench Wednesday

Stevenson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Stevenson had started in each of the Phillies' last three matchups with right-handed pitchers and went 2-for-6 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Though he'll take a seat Wednesday against righty Freddy Peralta, the lefty-hitting Stevenson appears to be making a push to take over the strong side of a platoon in center field with Johan Rojas.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Getting breather

Realmuto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

After a recent five-game absence due to a knee injury, Realmuto had started at catcher in each of the Phillies' ensuing five games while going 4-for-18 with two doubles, two RBI and one run. Realmuto appears to be getting a routine maintenance day Wednesday.

  • Phillies' Bryce Harper: Belts 29th homer

Harper went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Brewers.

He took Frankie Montas deep in the sixth inning to break open a 1-1 tie, putting Harper one long ball short of his fifth career 30-homer campaign. The veteran slugger has been heating up with the playoffs looming, and over the last 11 games Harper is slashing .386/.426/.727 with six doubles, three homers, seven runs and eight RBI.

  • Phillies' Zack Wheeler: Dials up fourth straight win

Wheeler (16-6) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits over seven innings in a 5-1 victory over the Brewers. He struck out six without walking a batter.

The right-hander bolstered his Cy Young case with his fourth straight win and ninth straight quality start, helping the Phillies close in on an NL East title. Wheeler has a dazzling 1.71 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 66:9 K:BB through 58 innings since the beginning of August, and he leads the NL in WHIP on the season (0.95) while sitting second to Atlanta's Chris Sale in ERA (2.56, versus Sale's 2.35). Wheeler will look to keep dealing in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend against the Mets.

  • Phillies' Aramis Garcia: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Phillies outrighted Garcia to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Garcia lost his spot on the 40-man roster but will stick around in the organization as catching depth. The veteran catcher is 0-for-7 at the plate during his brief time with the Phillies this season.
