It's important to acknowledge the failure first foremost. Then get together and identify as many of the root causes as possible. This can then be turned from a 'failed CSR project' to a lessons learned project and even a what did go well in this project (because there will be things that went well). This can all be used to re-motivate the team for the next project and ensure its success.

I will try to show my own discomfort and disappointment just like them and speak alongside the team about the effects of external factors on the Failure. Demonstrating real emotions and the fact that failure can be a source of disappointment for anyone will reduce the distance between me and the team. In such an atmosphere, it becomes easier to both identify the reasons for failure and think of new paths and solutions.
