Our Chief Executive Sarah Jones (she/her) attended the Liberal Democrat conference this week. Social care was at the forefront of their manifesto, and they are continuing to talk about this important topic. We also heard about their commitment to housebuilding and helping the government achieve their housing targets.

We recently held our annual Chef of the Year competition, and we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible talent shown by our catering teams! Congratulations to our finalists who wowed everyone with their chosen menus at the event held at Leeds College: James Conroy from Eric Morecambe House, Lewis Cutler from West Hall, Michael Marcial from The Manor House Harrogate, and Melissa Marshall from Hatfield House. And a big well done to Lewis Cutler for taking home the top prize! We chatted with the finalists and one of our apprentices, who all shared their passion for their roles, highlighting the unique rewards of working as a chef or within a catering team at Anchor over a restaurant. They spoke about the joy of connecting with residents, crafting meals that truly matter, and why it's a fulfilling career for those who love food and people. Our catering teams play a vital role in creating delicious, nutritious meals that enhance the well-being of our residents, making every mealtime special. Their passion and dedication ensure that everyone who lives with us has an enjoyable daily dining experience. We have exciting opportunities to join our talented catering teams across Anchor. We're excited to announce that in partnership with Deeley Group, work has started on a new development in Sutton Coldfield which will deliver 137 new homes. This will be the second development delivered by the Deeley – Anchor partnership, which will have an emphasis on affordability and choice for residents. Victoria Mager, Director of Development at Anchor, says: "This promises to be another excellent development as part of our partnership with the Deeley Group and the start on site at Mill Place is a significant milestone in the project.
