Rethinking innovation
- When I say the word innovation what's the first thing that comes to mind? Your smartphone, the internet of things? Each of these represents the pinnacle of technological innovation. But what if I said the way in which local governments work with citizens was an example of innovation? Or the way in which community members facilitate conversations with each other about complex social challenges like poverty? These are as much examples of innovation as any technical invention, yet we're so infatuated by our technological wizardry that we often forget there's power in reinventing human interactions in ways that transcend our past behaviors. I'm Scott Boylston and in this course, we'll look at the design opportunity existing in the realm of social innovation through a systems thinking lens. Get ready to redesign how you design.
