Let’s talk about inclusivity and women in male-dominated industries. Take space, for example—an industry traditionally dominated by men. But the truth is, women are making huge strides in areas like aerospace, engineering, and technology. They’re breaking barriers and showing us all what’s possible. The thing is, inclusivity doesn’t just happen by chance. We have to intentionally create environments where women feel empowered, supported, and heard. That means opening doors, offering mentorship, and ensuring they have the space to lead and innovate. The more inclusive we are, the better we all do. Women bring unique perspectives and ideas that push industries forward. So, let’s keep working toward a future where women thrive in all fields—especially in industries like space that are full of untapped potential. 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. In today's world, we as artists have an important role to play. Faced with increasingly complex issues intertwined with colonialism and extractivism logic, it's essential to ask different questions and to learn to empathize with anyone suffering amidst these problems. These skills of questioning and perceiving the invisible are at the core of what we acquire in artistic training. They are the skills needed to save the world. True collaboration between multiple disciplines of knowledge and expertise will be necessary, as well as the valorization of indigenous knowledge, crip knowledge, teachings of nature, and experiential knowledge from communities seeking equity. These knowledges will form the foundation of a more just future. My contribution to the National Theatre School has come to an end, as the new NTS leadership has chosen to revert to a more conservative vision, less engaged, and less focused on social innovation. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫. After nearly 15 years of contributing to major cultural institutions, this departure gives me the freedom to explore roles where my skills, values, and passion align even better. Recently, my artistic practice has been taking up more space, and I have been working as an independent consultant with cultural and community organizations that share my values and appreciate the depth I bring. Over the years, my sister Maude Levasseur and I have developed interests at the intersection of art and social justice that have continued to grow. We are excited to announce the birth of our new collective: Place Courage. This collective will be a space where creativity and social engagement come together to inspire change.
