AN ex-WWE star has been arrested following an alleged stabbing at a gas station.

Charles Scaggs, professionally known as 2 Cold Scorpio in wrestling, claimed he acted in self-defense.

The incident occurred at a Love's Travel Stop on 3201 Ameristar Dr in Kansas City, Missouri, according to the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

Scaggs, 58, supposedly engaged in an argument with a customer at the gas station over a lit cigarette, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The former wrestling star reportedly said he was working as a security guard at the store, according to TMZ.

Scaggs allegedly told the man to stop smoking inside which reportedly upset the customer.

This argument supposedly then moved outside where Scaggs pulled out a knife.

Police said they were called to the gas station at 3:40 am for a reported cutting.

The customer later denied having lit a cigarette inside the store.

The former WWE star was arrested at the scene on June 15, according to police.

He was handed a first-degree assault charge and one count of armed criminal action, according to TMZ.

Scaggs pleaded not guilty to these charges and is due in court next month, according to court records seen by TMZ.

The former sports entertainer reportedly told cops that he acted in self-defense and stabbed the man after he allegedly tried to attack Scaggs in the parking lot.

Police reportedly said they discovered a man bleeding from his head, chest, legs, stomach, and buttocks when they arrived on the scene, according to TMZ.

"The victim had numerous cut and stab wounds and was transported to the hospital for treatment," police said in a statement to The U.S. Sun.

Police allegedly said the man had been going in and out of consciousness when they found him.

The alleged victim reportedly also told doctors that Scaggs was the aggressor during their clash.

Scaggs broke into the wrestling scene in 1985 and reached the peak of his career in the 1990s.

This included winning a WCW Tag Team Championship in the 1990s.

The professional wrestler was known under several professional names such as 2 Cold Scorpio and Flash Funk.

He competed in both the WWE and WCW.

Scaggs had also won several other major championships like the ECW World Tag Team Championship and the ECW World Television Championship.

The former star has not professionally wrestled since the early 2000s.
