Coronado Bay Bridge

The Coronado Bridge is another major San Diego icon. Opened to traffic in 1969, the bridge was constructed with a span reaching a maximum height of 200 ft., designed to allow U.S. Navy ships to sail in and out of the nearby Naval Station San Diego. Crossing the bridge in both directions is free, and you will be rewarded by spectacular views of the San Diego skyline, San Diego Bay, Coronado and its famous icon, the Hotel Del Coronado, and the Pacific Ocean beyond. On clear days you will get a view down to Baja California Mexico as well as a gorgeous vista onto San Diego's majestic mountain range.
