At historic Morven Park, you'll be able to view the Greek Revival mansion owned in the 19th century by Thomas Swann Jr., Maryland's Governor, and then later by Virginia Governor Westmoreland Davis. The park also houses a Museum of Hounds and Hunting that chronicles the area's love affair with horses and hunting. A long-range preservation project may restrict access to certain areas, but guests can enjoy seasonal alternative attractions such as Civil War and World War I-era history programs, the Winmill Carriage exhibit and boxwood garden tours. The estate also features over 1200 acres on which you'll be able to see replicas of log structures occupied by Confederate soldiers. Please call ahead to confirm access.
