There are so many great places to eat in Brixton, both within the old market, and without, that concentrating on just one restaurant or cafe would do a disservice to the others. For burgers, try 'Honest Burgers'; for cafe culture there are any number of great patisseries, coffee places and bakeries to try, Federation Coffee is a good start though. Franco Manca is great for Pizza and has won lots of awards and mentions since it opened. Kao Sarn does authentic Thai, Asmara has some delicious Ethiopian cuisine. Casa Morita goes Mexican and Cannon and Cannon is modern Brit. Basically this is one of the newest foodie destinations in London. Always known for its underground social life, the food scene also started with pop ups, and market stalls, but now it has gone a little more upmarket with prices to match, but it's still worth spending some time and money and stretching your stomach a little.
