Inspired by visits to the public markets of Europe, former West Palm Beach Mayor Nancy Graham helped establish the first weekly public farmers market in Palm Beach County in 1995. These days, the West Palm Beach GreenMarket takes place every Saturday from October through May, with more than 90 vendors along the Intracoastal waterfront.

Best Fast Casual Restaurant: QDOBA Mexican Eats

Best Public Market: Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market ranks among the country’s largest and oldest, dating back to 1893. "My favorite market in the Northeast," according to 10Best contributor Eric Grossman, is "an easy one-stop shop for all the amazing treats offered up in Philly and Amish Country."

Best Regional Fast Food: Dick's Drive-In in Washington

This iconic fast food hamburger chain opened in 1954 and has eight locations in Washington. It serves burgers with the finest fresh beef available, fries made from Washington potatoes cut daily by hand, and hand-dipped shakes that are individually whipped for an old-fashioned creamy texture. 10Best contributor Robert Niles adds, “The long lines move quickly as Dick’s serves up some of the lowest-priced burgers in the industry from some of its best-paid workers. Just don’t ask for substitutions.”
