Human Resources Associate

The Human Resources Associate coordinates all Human Resources services, policies, and programs for Alaska Public Media while sharing a passion for ensuring the integrity and vitality of the mission of the organization. The HR Administrator is responsible for managing HR documents, updating internal databases, assisting in the recruitment process, data gathering and analytics, and other duties as assigned.

Alaska Desk Grants Writer & Manager (Full Time)

Alaska Public Media (AKPM) seeks an experienced and mission-driven grants writer and manager who is inspired by the opportunity to secure funding for public media journalism. Continuation for this two-year grant-funded position will be contingent on securing additional funding. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) awarded a significant two-year Regional Journalism Collaborative (RJC) grant supported by a match from several Alaska public radio partners to create the Alaska Desk. The Alaska Desk Grants Writer & Manager will manage all aspects of the Alaska Desk CPB funding while researching, writing, and securing additional journalism grants to support and sustain this multi-year initiative.

Broadcast Engineer

Primary duties include the support of broadcast stations KAKM-TV, KSKA-FM, and the statewide satellite news network. Support includes all inside and outside plant supervision and maintenance. Alaska Public Media is the source of NPR radio, PBS television for South Central Alaska and stewards of the statewide news.

The Broadcast Engineer will, as a member of a team, provide the skills necessary to synthesize and implement the technical policies of the station.

FM/Video Production Intern

Alaska Public Media harnesses the power of multiple media platforms to make a more informed and connected life possible for all Alaskans. Alaska Public Media produces and presents news and content that provides lifelong learning opportunities in public affairs, health and leisure, science and nature, economic and social development, civic engagement, and world events.

The FM/Video Production Intern assists both the FM and Video Production teams with studio and field production, audio and video editing, analytics, and content inventory. This opportunity allows AKPM to teach the next generation of TV/Radio broadcasters by providing professional, hands-on training in these fields while the FM/Video Production Intern provides valuable, first-hand insight into the community that they’re a part of.
