I have used CALGON Powerball tablets in my LG inverter direct drive 8kg washing machine for over 2 years, in every washThis pack of 75 is by far the best value from Amazon compared to the leading supermarkets who only sell 45 tablets for nearly the same priceI live in Oxfordshire where we have very hard limescale water as you can see in my photo it cleans and protects the rubber leaving it with no mildew deposits or smells.I wholeheartedly recommend this product

My washing machine had over time, had ceased to function as it did when new. It is a top make which came with a 10 year parts guarantee, which definitely influenced my choice. As time went by, I found that the machine was no longer heating the water on a 40 degree cycle which could have been down to either the sensor or heating element becoming affected by the hard London water. There is a cleaning cycle on the machine which the manufacturers claim is sufficient to keep the machine working properly. This, I thought, meant that I would have to replace either the temperature sensor or the heating element. Since using these Calgon tablets, I have found that the machine now heats the water properly on a 40 degree cycle. I have also found that dissolving the tablets first in warm/hot water means that they are more efficiently distributed through the machine when added as the machine is filling with water. The difference is also visible in the cleanliness of the drum.
