On precision holography for the circular Wilson loop in $AdS_{5}\times S^{5}$
Abstract: The string theory calculation of the 1/2-BPS circular Wilson loop of N=4 SYM in the planar limit at next to leading order at strong coupling is revisited in the ratio of its semiclassical string partition function and the one dual to a latitude Wilson loop with trivial expectation value. After applying a conformal transformation from the disk to the cylinder, this problem can be approached by mean… ▽ More

Matching quantum string corrections and circular Wilson loops in $AdS_4 \times CP^3$
Abstract: Recent progresses in the computation of quantum string corrections to holographic Wilson loops are extended to the case of strings in $AdS_{4}\times CP^{3}$. For this, the ratio of 1/2-BPS circular and 1/6-BPS latitude fermionic Wilson loops in ABJM is considered at strong coupling by studying the corresponding semiclassical string partition functions. Explicit evaluation of fluctuation determinan… ▽ More

Precision matching of circular Wilson loops and strings in AdS(5)xS(5)
Abstract: Previous attempts to match the exact N=4 super Yang-Mills expression for the expectation value of the 1/2-BPS circular Wilson loop with the semiclassical AdS(5)xS(5) string theory prediction were not successful at the first subleading order. There was a missing prefactor ~ lambda^(-3/4) which could be attributed to the unknown normalization of the string path integral measure. Here we resolve this… ▽ More

String corrections to circular Wilson loop and anomalies
Abstract: We study string quantum corrections to the ratio of latitude and circular Wilson loops in N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory at strong coupling. Conformal gauge for the corresponding minimal surface in AdS(5)xS(5) is singular and we show that an IR anomaly associated with the divergence in the conformal factor removes previously reported discrepancy with the exact field-theory result. We also carefully c… ▽ More

Quantum String Test of Nonconformal Holography
Abstract: We compute Lüscher corrections to the effective string tension in the Pilch-Warner background, holographically dual to $\mathcal{N}=2^*$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. The same quantity can be calculated directly from field theory by solving the localization matrix model at large-$N$. We find complete agreement between the field-theory predictions and explicit string-theory calculation at stron… ▽ More

Superintegrability of Geodesic Motion on the Sausage Model
Abstract: Reduction of the $η$-deformed sigma model on ${\rm AdS}_5 \times {\rm S}^5$ to the two-dimensional squashed sphere $({\rm S}^2)_η$ can be viewed as a special case of the Fateev sausage model where the coupling constant $ν$ is imaginary. We show that geodesic motion in this model is described by a certain superintegrable mechanical system with four-dimensional phase space. This is done by means of… ▽ More

Integrability of the eta-deformed Neumann-Rosochatius model
Abstract: An integrable deformation of the well-known Neumann-Rosochatius system is studied by considering generalised bosonic spinning solutions on the eta-deformed AdS_5 x S^5 background. For this integrable model we construct a 4x4 Lax representation and a set of integrals of motion that ensures its Liouville integrability. These integrals of motion correspond to the deformed analogues of the Neumann-Ros… ▽ More

Deformed Neumann model from spinning strings on (AdS_5 x S^5)_η
Abstract: We show that bosonic spinning strings on the η-deformed AdS_5 x S^5 background are naturally described as periodic solutions of a novel finite-dimensional integrable system which can be viewed as a deformation of the celebrated Neumann model. For this deformed model we find the Lax representation and the analogue of the Uhlenbeck integrals.
