We present measurements of the Born cross sections for the processes $e^+e^-\rightarrowωχ_{c1}$ and $ωχ_{c2}$ at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ from 4.308 to 4.951 GeV. The measurements are performed with data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 11.0 $\rm{fb}^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. Assuming the $e^+e^-\rightarrowωχ_{c2}$ signals come from a single resonance, the mass and width are determined to be $M=(4413.6\pm9.0\pm0.8)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $Γ=(110.5\pm15.0\pm2.9)$ MeV, respectively, which is consistent with the parameters of the well-established resonance $ψ(4415)$. In addition, we also use one single resonance to describe the $e^+e^-\rightarrowωχ_{c1}$ lineshape, and determine the mass and width to be $M=(4544.2\pm18.7\pm1.7)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $Γ=(116.1\pm33.5\pm1.7)$ MeV, respectively. The structure of this lineshape, observed for the first time, requires further understanding.

With the data samples taken at center-of-mass energies from 2.00 to 3.08 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, a partial wave analysis on the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ process is performed. The Born cross sections for $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ and its intermediate processes $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowρπ$ and $ρ(1450)π$ are measured as functions of $\sqrt{s}$. The results for $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ are consistent with previous results measured with the initial state radiation method within one standard deviation, and improve the uncertainty by a factor of ten. By fitting the line shapes of the Born cross sections for the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowρπ$ and $ρ(1450)π$, a structure with mass $M = 2119\pm11\pm15\ {\rm MeV}/c^2$ and width $Γ=69\pm30\pm5 {\rm MeV}$ is observed with a significance of $5.9σ$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. This structure can be intepreteted as an excited $ω$ state.

The ground-state mass excess of the $T_{z}=-2$ drip-line nucleus $^{22}$Al is measured for the first time to be $18103(10)$ keV using the newly-developed B$ρ$-defined isochronous mass spectrometry method at the cooler storage ring in Lanzhou. The new mass excess value allowed us to determine the excitation energies of the two low-lying $1^+$ states in $^{22}$Al with significantly reduced uncertainties of 51 keV. Comparing to the analogue states in its mirror nucleus $^{22}$F, the mirror energy differences of the two $1^+$ states in the $^{22}$Al-$^{22}$F mirror pair are determined to be $-625(51)$ keV and $-330(51)$ keV, respectively. The excitation energies and the mirror energy differences are used to test the state-of-the-art \textit{ab initio} valence-space in-medium similarity renormalization group calculations with four sets of interactions derived from the chiral effective field theory. The mechanism leading to the large mirror energy differences is investigated and attributed to the occupation of the $πs_{1/2}$ orbital.

High-latitude ($|b|>30^{\circ}$) molecular clouds have virial parameters that exceed 1, but whether these clouds can form stars has not been studied systematically. Using JCMT SCUBA-2 archival data, we surveyed 70 fields that target high-latitude Planck galactic cold clumps (HLPCs) to find dense cores with density of $10^{5}$-$10^{6}$ cm$^{-3}$ and size of $<0.1$ pc. The sample benefits from both the representativeness of the parent sample and covering densest clumps at the high column density end ($>1\times10^{21}$ cm$^{-2}$). At an average noise rms of 15 mJy/beam, we detected Galactic dense cores in only one field, G6.04+36.77 (L183), while also identifying 12 extragalactic objects and two young stellar objects. Compared to the low-latitude clumps, dense cores are scarce in HLPCs. With synthetic observations, the densities of cores are constrained to be $n_c\lesssim10^5$ cm$^{-3}$, should they exist in HLPCs. Low-latitude clumps, Taurus clumps, and HLPCs form a sequence where a higher virial parameter corresponds to a lower dense core detection rate. If HLPCs were affected by the Local Bubble, the scarcity should favor turbulence-inhibited rather than supernova-driven star formation. Studies of the formation mechanism of the L183 molecular cloud are warranted.

Face aging has received continuous research attention over the past two decades. Although previous works on this topic have achieved impressive success, two longstanding problems remain unsettled: 1) generating diverse and plausible facial aging patterns at the target age stage; 2) measuring the rationality of identity variation between the original portrait and its syntheses with age progression or regression. In this paper, we introduce ${\rm{DLAT}}^{\boldsymbol{+}}$ to realize Diverse and Lifespan Age Transformation on human faces, where the diversity jointly manifests in the transformation of facial textures and shapes. Apart from the diversity mechanism embedded in the model, multiple consistency restrictions are leveraged to keep it away from counterfactual aging syntheses. Moreover, we propose a new metric to assess the rationality of Identity Deviation under Age Gaps (IDAG) between the input face and its series of age-transformed generations, which is based on statistical laws summarized from plenty of genuine face-aging data. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the uniqueness and effectiveness of our method in synthesizing diverse and perceptually reasonable faces across the whole lifetime.

In this paper, we study the null controllability for some linear and semi-linear parabolic SPDEs involving both the state and the gradient of the state. To start with, an improved global Carleman estimate for linear forward (resp. backward) parabolic SPDEs with general random coefficients and $L^2$-valued source terms is derived. Based on this, we further develop a new global Carleman estimate for linear forward (resp. backward) parabolic SPDEs with $H^{-1}$-valued source terms, which enables us to deal with the global null controllability for linear backward (resp. forward) parabolic SPDEs with gradient terms. As byproduct, a special energy-type estimate for the controlled system that explicitly depends on the parameters $λ,μ$ and the weighted function $θ$ is obtained. Furthermore, by employing a fixed-point argument, we extend the previous linear controllability results to some semi-linear backward (resp. forward) parabolic SPDEs.

The $D^+\to f_0(500)μ^+ν_μ$ decay is observed for the first time. By analyzing simultaneously the differential decay rates of $D^+\to f_0(500) μ^+ν_μ$ and $D^+\to f_0(500) e^+ν_e$ in different $\ell^+ν_\ell$ four-momentum transfer intervals, the product of the relevant hadronic form factor $f^{f_0}_{+}(0)$ and the magnitude of the $c\to d$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cd}|$ is determined to be $f_{+}^{f_0} (0)|V_{cd}|=0.0787\pm0.0060_{\rm stat}\pm0.0033_{\rm syst}$ for the first time. With the input of $|V_{cd}|$ from the global fit in the standard model, we determine $f_{+}^{f_0} (0)=0.350\pm0.027_{\rm stat}\pm0.015_{\rm syst}$. The absolute branching fractions of $D^+\to f_0(500)_{(π^+π^-)}μ^+ν_μ$ and $D^+\to ρ^0_{(π^+π^-)} μ^+ν_μ$ are determined as $(0.72\pm0.13_{\rm stat}\pm0.10_{\rm syst})\times10^{-3}$ and $(1.64\pm0.13_{\rm stat}\pm0.11_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-3}$. Combining these results with those of previous BESIII measurements on their semielectronic counterparts from the same data sample, we test lepton flavor universality by measuring the branching fraction ratios ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to ρ^0 μ^+ν_μ}/{\mathcal B}_{D^+\to ρ^0 e^+ν_e}=0.88\pm0.10$ and ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to f_0(500) μ^+ν_μ}/{\mathcal B}_{D^+\to f_0(500) e^+ν_e}=1.14\pm0.28$, which are compatible with the standard model expectation.

The recent measurement of $\mathcal{B}(B^+\to K^+ν\barν)$ by Belle-II reveals a $2.8~σ$ deviation from the Standard Model (SM) prediction. Combining this with a prior Belle measurement of $\mathcal{B}(B^{0}\to K^{\ast0}ν\barν)$, the upper bound of the ratio $\mathcal{B}(B^{0}\to K^{\ast0}ν\barν)/\mathcal{B}(B^+\to K^+ν\barν)$ is notably smaller than the SM prediction. In this work, tensions are solved within the framework of Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). Flavor observables, described by Low-Energy Effective Field Theory (LEFT) operators, are interconnected by SMEFT at the electroweak scale. Utilizing a set of only four SMEFT operators, the FCNC process $b\to sν\barν$ is correlated with $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$, $b\to u_i\ell\barν$, $u_j\to s\ell\barν$, $u_j\to u_iν\barν$, and $u_j\to u_i\ell^+\ell^-$. Subsequently, we obtain the latest ranges of Wilson coefficients for these four operators through a global fit that accommodates flavor anomalies such as $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$, $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$, and $\mathcal{B}(B\to K^{(\ast)}ν\barν)$. Our findings reveal that predictions for $\mathcal{B}(B^+\to τ^+ν_τ)$ and $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to τ^+ν_τ)$ align well with measured values from Belle and BESIII, based on the fitted coefficients. The predicted branching fraction for $B^0\to K^{\ast0}ν\barν$ is $(1.42\pm 0.74)\times 10^{-5}$, closely approaching the current experimental upper limit. Anticipation surrounds the rare decay $B_s\to τ^+ τ^-$, expected in the near future with a branching fraction on the order of $10^{-4}$.

The recently observed abnormal bifurcation of the double binding energy differences $δV_{pn}$ between the odd-odd and even-even nuclei along the $N=Z$ line from Ni to Rb has challenged the nuclear theories. To solve this problem, a shell-model-like approach based on the relativistic density functional theory is established, by treating simultaneously the neutron-neutron, proton-neutron, and proton-proton pairing correlations both microscopically and self-consistently. Without any \textit{ad hoc} parameters, the calculated results well reproduce the observations, and the mechanism for this abnormal bifurcation is found to be due to the enhanced proton-neutron pairing correlations in the odd-odd $N=Z$ nuclei, compared with the even-even ones. The present results provide an excellent interpretation for the abnormal $δV_{pn}$ bifurcation, and provide a clear signal for the existence of the proton-neutron pairing correlations for nuclei close to the $N=Z$ line.

Graphical User Interface (GUI) agents are designed to automate complex tasks on digital devices, such as smartphones and desktops. Most existing GUI agents interact with the environment through extracted structured data, which can be notably lengthy (e.g., HTML) and occasionally inaccessible (e.g., on desktops). To alleviate this issue, we propose a novel visual GUI agent -- SeeClick, which only relies on screenshots for task automation. In our preliminary study, we have discovered a key challenge in developing visual GUI agents: GUI grounding -- the capacity to accurately locate screen elements based on instructions. To tackle this challenge, we propose to enhance SeeClick with GUI grounding pre-training and devise a method to automate the curation of GUI grounding data. Along with the efforts above, we have also created ScreenSpot, the first realistic GUI grounding benchmark that encompasses mobile, desktop, and web environments. After pre-training, SeeClick demonstrates significant improvement in ScreenSpot over various baselines. Moreover, comprehensive evaluations on three widely used benchmarks consistently support our finding that advancements in GUI grounding directly correlate with enhanced performance in downstream GUI agent tasks. The model, data and code are available at https://github.com/njucckevin/SeeClick.

Based on a data sample of 10 billion $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, improved measurements of the Dalitz decays $η/η'\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ are performed, where the $η$ and $η'$ are produced through the radiative decays $J/ψ\rightarrowγη/η'$. The branching fractions of $η\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ and $η'\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ are measured to be $(7.07 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.23)\times10^{-3}$ and $(4.83\pm0.07\pm0.14)\times10^{-4}$, respectively. Within the single pole model, the parameter of electromagnetic transition form factor for $η\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ is determined to be $Λ_η=(0.749 \pm 0.027 \pm 0.007)~ {\rm GeV}/c^{2}$. Within the multi-pole model, we extract the electromagnetic transition form factors for $η'\rightarrowγe^+e^-$ to be $Λ_{η'} = (0.802 \pm 0.007\pm 0.008)~ {\rm GeV}/c^{2}$ and $γ_{η'} = (0.113\pm0.010\pm0.002)~ {\rm GeV}/c^{2}$. The results are consistent with both theoretical predictions and previous measurements. The characteristic sizes of the interaction regions for the $η$ and $η'$ are calculated to be $(0.645 \pm 0.023 \pm 0.007 )~ {\rm fm}$ and $(0.596 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.006)~ {\rm fm}$, respectively. In addition, we search for the dark photon in $η/η^\prime\rightarrowγe^{+}e^{-}$, and the upper limits of the branching fractions as a function of the dark photon are given at 90\% confidence level.

Clear signals are observed for the two reactions. The cross sections in $-0.9\leq\rm{cos}θ_{Λ/\barΛ}\leq0.9$ are measured to be $σ(Λp\rightarrowΛp)=(12.2\pm1.6_{\rm{stat}}\pm1.1_{\rm{sys}})$ mb and $σ(\barΛ p\rightarrow\barΛ p)=(17.5\pm2.1_{\rm{stat}}\pm1.6_{\rm{sys}})$ mb at the $Λ/\barΛ$ momentum of $1.074$ GeV/$c$ within a range of $\pm0.017$ GeV/$c$, where the $θ_{Λ/\barΛ}$ are the scattering angles of the $Λ/\barΛ$ in the $Λp/\barΛp$ rest frames. Furthermore, the differential cross sections of the two reactions are also measured, where there is a slight tendency of forward scattering for $Λp\rightarrowΛp$, and a strong forward peak for $\barΛp\rightarrow\barΛp$. We present an approach to extract the total elastic cross sections by extrapolation. The study of $\barΛp\rightarrow\barΛp$ represents the first study of antihyperon-nucleon scattering, and these new measurements will serve as important inputs for the theoretical understanding of the (anti)hyperon-nucleon interaction.

Readily editable mesh blendshapes have been widely used in animation pipelines, while recent advancements in neural geometry and appearance representations have enabled high-quality inverse rendering. Building upon these observations, we introduce a novel technique that reconstructs mesh-based blendshape rigs from single or sparse multi-view videos, leveraging state-of-the-art neural inverse rendering. We begin by constructing a deformation representation that parameterizes vertex displacements into differential coordinates with tetrahedral connections, allowing for high-quality vertex deformation on high-resolution meshes. By constructing a set of semantic regulations in this representation, we achieve joint optimization of blendshapes and expression coefficients. Furthermore, to enable a user-friendly multi-view setup with unsynchronized cameras, we propose a neural regressor to model time-varying motion parameters. This approach implicitly considers the time difference across multiple cameras, enhancing the accuracy of motion modeling. Experiments demonstrate that, with the flexible input of single or sparse multi-view videos, we reconstruct personalized high-fidelity blendshapes. These blendshapes are both geometrically and semantically accurate, and they are compatible with industrial animation pipelines. Code and data are available at https://github.com/grignarder/high-quality-blendshape-generation.

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) has been extensively utilized in maritime domains due to its all-weather, all-day monitoring capabilities, particularly exhibiting significant value in ship detection. In recent years, deep learning methods have increasingly been utilized for refined ship detection. However, learning-based methods exhibit poor generalization when confronted with new scenarios and data, necessitating expert intervention for continuous annotation. Currently, the degree of automation in human-machine collaboration within this field, especially in annotating new data, is not high, leading to labor- and computation-intensive model iteration and updates. Addressing these issues, a ship detection framework in SAR images with human-in-the-loop (HitL) is proposed. Incorporating the concept of HitL, tailored active learning strategies are designed for SAR ship detection tasks to present valuable samples to users, and an interactive human-machine interface (HMI) is established to efficiently collect user feedback. Consequently, user input is utilized in each interaction round to enhance model performance. Employing the proposed framework, an annotated ship database of SAR images is constructed, and the iteration experiments conducted during the construction demonstrates the efficiency of the method, providing new perspectives and approaches for research in this domain.

Stellar activity cycles reveal continuous relaxation and induction of magnetic fields. The activity cycle is typically traced through the observation of cyclic variations in total brightness or Ca H&K emission flux of stars, as well as cyclic variations of orbital periods of binary systems. In this work, we report the identification of a semi-detached binary system (TIC 16320250) consisting of a white dwarf (0.67 $M_{\odot}$) and an active M dwarf (0.56 $M_{\odot}$). The long-term multi-band optical light curves spanning twenty years revealed three repeated patterns, suggestive of a possible activity cycle of about ten years of the M dwarf. Light curve fitting indicates the repeated variation is caused by the evolution, particularly the motion, of polar spots. The significant Ca H&K, H$α$, ultra-violet, and X-ray emissions imply that the M dwarf is one of the most magnetically active stars. We propose that in the era of large time-domain photometric sky surveys (e.g., ASAS-SN, ZTF, LSST, Sitian), long-term light curve modeling can be a valuable tool for tracing and revealing stellar activity cycle, especially for stars in binary systems.

We present observations using the NOrthern Extended Millimetre Array (NOEMA) of CO and $\rm H_{2}O$ emission lines, and the underlying dust continuum in two quasars at $z \sim 6$, i.e., P215-16 at $z$ = 5.78 and J1429+5447 at $z$ = 6.18. Notably, among all published CO SLEDs of quasars at $z \sim 6$, the two systems reveal the highest and the lowest CO level of excitation, respectively. Our radiative transfer modeling of the CO SLED of P215-16 suggests that the molecular gas heated by AGN could be a plausible origin for the high CO excitation. For J1429+5447, we obtain the first well-sampled CO SLED (from transitions from 2-1 to 10-9) of a radio-loud quasar at $z\gtrsim 6$. Analysis of the CO SLED suggests that a single photo-dissociation region (PDR) component could explain the CO excitation in the radio-loud quasar J1429+5447. This work highlights the utility of the CO SLED in uncovering the ISM properties in these young quasar-starburst systems at the highest redshift. The diversity of the CO SLEDs reveals the complexities in gas conditions and excitation mechanisms at their early evolutionary stage.

The two cores show no obvious sign of star-formation activities. In particular, MM1-C is a very promising massive prestellar core candidate with a total gas mass of 71\,\solarmass. Within MM1-C, we detected two extremely dense substructures, C1 and C2, as characterized by their high densities of $\rm n_{H_2}\sim 10^{8-9} cm^{-3}$. Moreover, evidence of further fragmentation in C2 was also revealed. We have detected the primordial fragmentation in the earliest stage of massive star formation, and we speculate that MM1-C would be the birthplace of a massive multiple system. However, we cannot fully rule out the possibility that the massive prestellar core MM1-C will just form a cluster of low-mass stars if it undergoes further fragmentation.

Segment Anything Model (SAM), built on the Vision Transformer (ViT) model with millions of parameters and vast training dataset SA-1B, excels in various segmentation scenarios relying on its significance of semantic information and generalization ability. Such achievement of visual foundation model stimulates continuous researches on specific downstream tasks in computer vision. The ClassWise-SAM-Adapter (CWSAM) is designed to adapt the high-performing SAM for landcover classification on space-borne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. The proposed CWSAM freezes most of SAM's parameters and incorporates lightweight adapters for parameter efficient fine-tuning, and a classwise mask decoder is designed to achieve semantic segmentation task. This adapt-tuning method allows for efficient landcover classification of SAR images, balancing the accuracy with computational demand. In addition, the task specific input module injects low frequency information of SAR images by MLP-based layers to improve the model performance. Compared to conventional state-of-the-art semantic segmentation algorithms by extensive experiments, CWSAM showcases enhanced performance with fewer computing resources, highlighting the potential of leveraging foundational models like SAM for specific downstream tasks in the SAR domain. Multimodal alignment between language and vision is the fundamental topic in current vision-language model research. Contrastive Captioners (CoCa), as a representative method, integrates Contrastive Language-Image Pretraining (CLIP) and Image Caption (IC) into a unified framework, resulting in impressive results. CLIP imposes a bidirectional constraints on global representation of entire images and sentences. Although IC conducts an unidirectional image-to-text generation on local representation, it lacks any constraint on local text-to-image reconstruction, which limits the ability to understand images at a fine-grained level when aligned with texts. To achieve multimodal alignment from both global and local perspectives, this paper proposes Symmetrizing Contrastive Captioners (SyCoCa), which introduces bidirectional interactions on images and texts across the global and local representation levels. Specifically, we expand a Text-Guided Masked Image Modeling (TG-MIM) head based on ITC and IC heads. The improved SyCoCa can further leverage textual cues to reconstruct contextual images and visual cues to predict textual contents. When implementing bidirectional local interactions, the local contents of images tend to be cluttered or unrelated to their textual descriptions. Thus, we employ an attentive masking strategy to select effective image patches for interaction. Extensive experiments on five vision-language tasks, including image-text retrieval, image-captioning, visual question answering, and zero-shot/finetuned image classification, validate the effectiveness of our proposed method.

Visual obstacle discovery is a key step towards autonomous navigation of indoor mobile robots. Successful solutions have many applications in multiple scenes. One of the exceptions is the reflective ground. In this case, the reflections on the floor resemble the true world, which confuses the obstacle discovery and leaves navigation unsuccessful. We argue that the key to this problem lies in obtaining discriminative features for reflections and obstacles. Note that obstacle and reflection can be separated by the ground plane in 3D space. With this observation, we firstly introduce a pre-calibration based ground detection scheme that uses robot motion to predict the ground plane. Due to the immunity of robot motion to reflection, this scheme avoids failed ground detection caused by reflection. Given the detected ground, we design a ground-pixel parallax to describe the location of a pixel relative to the ground. Based on this, a unified appearance-geometry feature representation is proposed to describe objects inside rectangular boxes. Eventually, based on segmenting by detection framework, an appearance-geometry fusion regressor is designed to utilize the proposed feature to discover the obstacles. It also prevents our model from concentrating too much on parts of obstacles instead of whole obstacles. For evaluation, we introduce a new dataset for Obstacle on Reflective Ground (ORG), which comprises 15 scenes with various ground reflections, a total of more than 200 image sequences and 3400 RGB images. The pixel-wise annotations of ground and obstacle provide a comparison to our method and other methods. By reducing the misdetection of the reflection, the proposed approach outperforms others. Simulating high-resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images in complex scenes has consistently presented a significant research challenge. The development of a microwave-domain surface scattering model and its reversibility are poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing the authenticity of SAR image simulations and facilitating the reconstruction of target parameters. Drawing inspiration from the field of computer graphics, this paper proposes a surface microwave rendering model that comprehensively considers both Specular and Diffuse contributions. The model is analytically represented by the coherent spatially varying bidirectional scattering distribution function (CSVBSDF) based on the Kirchhoff approximation (KA) and the perturbation method (SPM). And SAR imaging is achieved through the synergistic combination of ray tracing and fast mapping projection techniques. Furthermore, a differentiable ray tracing (DRT) engine based on SAR images was constructed for CSVBSDF surface scattering parameter learning. Within this SAR image simulation engine, the use of differentiable reverse ray tracing enables the rapid estimation of parameter gradients from SAR images. The effectiveness of this approach has been validated through simulations and comparisons with real SAR images. By learning the surface scattering parameters, substantial enhancements in SAR image simulation performance under various observation conditions have been demonstrated.

The electromagnetic inverse problem has long been a research hotspot. This study aims to reverse radar view angles in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images given a target model. Nonetheless, the scarcity of SAR data, combined with the intricate background interference and imaging mechanisms, limit the applications of existing learning-based approaches. To address these challenges, we propose an interactive deep reinforcement learning (DRL) framework, where an electromagnetic simulator named differentiable SAR render (DSR) is embedded to facilitate the interaction between the agent and the environment, simulating a human-like process of angle prediction. Specifically, DSR generates SAR images at arbitrary view angles in real-time. And the differences in sequential and semantic aspects between the view angle-corresponding images are leveraged to construct the state space in DRL, which effectively suppress the complex background interference, enhance the sensitivity to temporal variations, and improve the capability to capture fine-grained information. Additionally, in order to maintain the stability and convergence of our method, a series of reward mechanisms, such as memory difference, smoothing and boundary penalty, are utilized to form the final reward function. Extensive experiments performed on both simulated and real datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of our proposed method. When utilized in the cross-domain area, the proposed method greatly mitigates inconsistency between simulated and real domains, outperforming reference methods significantly.

We report the measurement of the cross sections for $e^+e^-\rightarrow {\rm hadrons}$ at center-of-mass (c.m.) energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV. We observe a new resonance $\mathcal R(3810)$ in the cross sections for the first time, and observe the $\mathcal R(3760)$ resonance with high significance in the cross sections. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ has a mass of $(3804.5 \pm 0.9 \pm 0.9)$ ~MeV/$c^2$, a total width of $(5.4 \pm 3.5 \pm 3.2)$~MeV, and an electronic partial width of $(19.4 \pm 7.4 \pm 12.1)$~eV. Its significance is $7.7σ$. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ could be interpreted as a hadro-charmonium resonance predicted by Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). In addition, we measure the mass $(3751.9\pm 3.8\pm 2.8)$ ~MeV/$c^2$, the total width $(32.8 \pm 5.8 \pm 8.7)$~MeV, and the electronic partial width $(184\pm 75\pm 86)$~eV with improved precision for the $\mathcal R(3760)$. Furthermore, for the $\mathcal R(3780)$ we measure the mass $(3778.7\pm 0.5\pm 0.3)$ ~MeV/$c^2$ and total width $(20.3 \pm 0.8 \pm 1.7)$~MeV with improved precision, and the electronic partial width $(265\pm 69\pm 83)$~eV. The $\mathcal R(3780)$ can be interpreted as the $1^3D_1$ state of charmonium. Its mass and total width differ significantly from the corresponding fitted values given by the Particle Data Group in 2022 by 7.1 and 3.2 times the uncertainties for $ψ(3770)$, respectively. $ψ(3770)$ has been interpreted as the $1^3D_1$ state for 45 years.

Multi-wavelength properties of the nearby Supernova(SN)-associated low-luminosity GRB 171205A are investigated in depth to constrain its physicalan origin synthetically. The pulse width is found to be correlated with energy with a power-law index of $-0.24\pm0.07 $, which is consistent with the indices of other SN/GRBs but larger than those of long GRBs. By analyzing the overall light curve of its prompt gamma-rays and X-ray plateaus simultaneously, we infer that the early X-rays together with the gamma-rays should reflect the activities of central engine while the late X-rays may be dominated by the interaction of external shocks with circumburst material. In addition, we find that the host radio flux and offset of GRB 171205A are similar to those of other nearby low-luminosity GRBs. We adopt 9 SN/GRBs with measured offset to build a relation between peak luminosity ($L_{γ,p}$) and spectral lag ($τ$) as $L_{γ,p}\proptoτ^{-1.91\pm0.33}$. The peak luminosity and the projected physical offset of both 12 SN/GRBs and 10 KN/GRBs are found to be moderately correlated, suggesting their different progenitors. The multi-wavelength afterglow fitted with a top-hat jet model indicates that the jet half-opening angle and the viewing angle of GRB 171205A are $\thicksim$ 34.4 and 41.8 degrees, respectively, which implies that the off-axis emissions are dominated by the peripheral cocoon rather than the jet core.

Lightweight creation of 3D digital avatars is a highly desirable but challenging task. With only sparse videos of a person under unknown illumination, we propose a method to create relightable and animatable neural avatars, which can be used to synthesize photorealistic images of humans under novel viewpoints, body poses, and lighting. The key challenge here is to disentangle the geometry, material of the clothed body, and lighting, which becomes more difficult due to the complex geometry and shadow changes caused by body motions. To solve this ill-posed problem, we propose novel techniques to better model the geometry and shadow changes. For geometry change modeling, we propose an invertible deformation field, which helps to solve the inverse skinning problem and leads to better geometry quality. To model the spatial and temporal varying shading cues, we propose a pose-aware part-wise light visibility network to estimate light occlusion. Extensive experiments on synthetic and real datasets show that our approach reconstructs high-quality geometry and generates realistic shadows under different body poses. Code and data are available at \url{https://wenbin-lin.github.io/RelightableAvatar-page/}.

Agent-based modeling and simulation has evolved as a powerful tool for modeling complex systems, offering insights into emergent behaviors and interactions among diverse agents. Integrating large language models into agent-based modeling and simulation presents a promising avenue for enhancing simulation capabilities. This paper surveys the landscape of utilizing large language models in agent-based modeling and simulation, examining their challenges and promising future directions. In this survey, since this is an interdisciplinary field, we first introduce the background of agent-based modeling and simulation and large language model-empowered agents. We then discuss the motivation for applying large language models to agent-based simulation and systematically analyze the challenges in environment perception, human alignment, action generation, and evaluation. Most importantly, we provide a comprehensive overview of the recent works of large language model-empowered agent-based modeling and simulation in multiple scenarios, which can be divided into four domains: cyber, physical, social, and hybrid, covering simulation of both real-world and virtual environments. Finally, since this area is new and quickly evolving, we discuss the open problems and promising future directions.

Urban environments, characterized by their complex, multi-layered networks encompassing physical, social, economic, and environmental dimensions, face significant challenges in the face of rapid urbanization. These challenges, ranging from traffic congestion and pollution to social inequality, call for advanced technological interventions. Recent developments in big data, artificial intelligence, urban computing, and digital twins have laid the groundwork for sophisticated city modeling and simulation. However, a gap persists between these technological capabilities and their practical implementation in addressing urban challenges in an systemic-intelligent way. This paper proposes Urban Generative Intelligence (UGI), a novel foundational platform integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into urban systems to foster a new paradigm of urban intelligence. UGI leverages CityGPT, a foundation model trained on city-specific multi-source data, to create embodied agents for various urban tasks. These agents, operating within a textual urban environment emulated by city simulator and urban knowledge graph, interact through a natural language interface, offering an open platform for diverse intelligent and embodied agent development. This platform not only addresses specific urban issues but also simulates complex urban systems, providing a multidisciplinary approach to understand and manage urban complexity. This work signifies a transformative step in city science and urban intelligence, harnessing the power of LLMs to unravel and address the intricate dynamics of urban systems. The code repository with demonstrations will soon be released here https://github.com/tsinghua-fib-lab/UGI.

This report introduces a new family of multimodal models, Gemini, that exhibit remarkable capabilities across image, audio, video, and text understanding. The Gemini family consists of Ultra, Pro, and Nano sizes, suitable for applications ranging from complex reasoning tasks to on-device memory-constrained use-cases. Evaluation on a broad range of benchmarks shows that our most-capable Gemini Ultra model advances the state of the art in 30 of 32 of these benchmarks - notably being the first model to achieve human-expert performance on the well-studied exam benchmark MMLU, and improving the state of the art in every one of the 20 multimodal benchmarks we examined. We believe that the new capabilities of the Gemini family in cross-modal reasoning and language understanding will enable a wide variety of use cases. We discuss our approach toward post-training and deploying Gemini models responsibly to users through services including Gemini, Gemini Advanced, Google AI Studio, and Cloud Vertex AI.

The ratio of neutral-to-charged kaon form factors at large momentum transfers ($12~{\rm GeV}^2<Q^2<25~{\rm GeV}^2$) is determined to be $0.21\pm 0.01$, which indicates a small but significant effect of flavor-SU(3) breaking in the kaon wave function, and consequently excludes the possibility that flavor-SU(3) breaking is the primary reason for the strong experimental violation of the pQCD prediction $|F(π^{\pm})|/|F(K^{\pm})|=f^2_π/f^2_{K}$, where $F(π^{\pm})$ and $F(K^{\pm})$ are the form factors, and $f_π$ and $f_{K}$ are the decay constants of charged pions and kaons, respectively. We also observe a significant signal for the charmless decay $ψ(3770)\to K_S^0K_L^0$ for the first time. Within a $1σ$ contour of the likelihood value, the the branching fraction for $ψ(3770)\to K_S^0K_L^0$ is determined to be ${\cal B}=(2.63_{-1.59}^{+1.40})\times 10^{-5}$, and the relative phase between the continuum and $ψ(3770)$ amplitudes is $φ=(-0.39_{-0.10}^{+0.05})π$. The branching fraction is in good agreement with the $\mathcal{S}$- and $\mathcal{D}$-wave charmonia mixing scheme proposed in the interpretation of the "$ρπ$ puzzle" between $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ decays.

Graph contrastive learning is a general learning paradigm excelling at capturing invariant information from diverse perturbations in graphs. Recent works focus on exploring the structural rationale from graphs, thereby increasing the discriminability of the invariant information. However, such methods may incur in the mis-learning of graph models towards the interpretability of graphs, and thus the learned noisy and task-agnostic information interferes with the prediction of graphs. To this end, with the purpose of exploring the intrinsic rationale of graphs, we accordingly propose to capture the dimensional rationale from graphs, which has not received sufficient attention in the literature. The conducted exploratory experiments attest to the feasibility of the aforementioned roadmap. To elucidate the innate mechanism behind the performance improvement arising from the dimensional rationale, we rethink the dimensional rationale in graph contrastive learning from a causal perspective and further formalize the causality among the variables in the pre-training stage to build the corresponding structural causal model. On the basis of the understanding of the structural causal model, we propose the dimensional rationale-aware graph contrastive learning approach, which introduces a learnable dimensional rationale acquiring network and a redundancy reduction constraint. The learnable dimensional rationale acquiring network is updated by leveraging a bi-level meta-learning technique, and the redundancy reduction constraint disentangles the redundant features through a decorrelation process during learning. Empirically, compared with state-of-the-art methods, our method can yield significant performance boosts on various benchmarks with respect to discriminability and transferability. The code implementation of our method is available at https://github.com/ByronJi/DRGCL.

GPUs have become the \emph{defacto} hardware devices for accelerating Deep Neural Network (DNN) inference workloads. However, the conventional \emph{sequential execution mode of DNN operators} in mainstream deep learning frameworks cannot fully utilize GPU resources, even with the operator fusion enabled, due to the increasing complexity of model structures and a greater diversity of operators. Moreover, the \emph{inadequate operator launch order} in parallelized execution scenarios can lead to GPU resource wastage and unexpected performance interference among operators. In this paper, we propose \emph{Opara}, a resource- and interference-aware DNN \underline{Op}erator \underline{para}llel scheduling framework to accelerate DNN inference on GPUs. Specifically, \emph{Opara} first employs \texttt{CUDA Streams} and \texttt{CUDA Graph} to \emph{parallelize} the execution of multiple operators automatically. To further expedite DNN inference, \emph{Opara} leverages the resource demands of operators to judiciously adjust the operator launch order on GPUs, overlapping the execution of compute-intensive and memory-intensive operators. We implement and open source a prototype of \emph{Opara} based on PyTorch in a \emph{non-intrusive} manner. Extensive prototype experiments with representative DNN and Transformer-based models demonstrate that \emph{Opara} outperforms the default sequential \texttt{CUDA Graph} in PyTorch and the state-of-the-art operator parallelism systems by up to $1.68\times$ and $1.29\times$, respectively, yet with acceptable runtime overhead.

Using $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, the Born cross sections of $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2595)^- + \rm{c.c.}$ and $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2625)^- + \rm{c.c.}$ are measured for the first time at center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=4918.0$ and 4950.9 MeV. Non-zero cross sections are observed very close to the production threshold. The measured Born cross sections of $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2625)^- + \rm{c.c.}$ are about $2\sim3$ times greater than those of $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2595)^- + \rm{c.c.}$, thereby indicating that the exotic structure potentially exists in the excited charmed baryons. The Born cross sections are $15.6\pm3.1\pm0.9$ pb and $29.4\pm3.7\pm2.7$ pb for $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2595)^- + \rm{c.c.}$, and are $43.4\pm4.0\pm4.1$ pb and $76.8\pm6.5\pm4.2$ pb for $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2625)^- +\rm{c.c.}$ at $\sqrt s=4918.0$ and 4950.9 MeV, respectively. Based on the polar angle distributions of the $\barΛ_{c}(2625)^-$ and $Λ_{c}(2625)^+$, the form-factor ratios $\sqrt{|G_{E}|^2 + 3|G_{M}|^2}/|G_{C}|$ are determined for $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2625)^- + \rm{c.c.}$ for the first time, which are $5.95\pm4.07\pm0.15$ and $0.94\pm0.32\pm0.02$ at $\sqrt s=4918.0$ and 4950.9 MeV, respectively. All of these first uncertainties are statistical and second systematic.

Graph-based fraud detection (GFD) can be regarded as a challenging semi-supervised node binary classification task. In recent years, Graph Neural Networks (GNN) have been widely applied to GFD, characterizing the anomalous possibility of a node by aggregating neighbor information. However, fraud graphs are inherently heterophilic, thus most of GNNs perform poorly due to their assumption of homophily. In addition, due to the existence of heterophily and class imbalance problem, the existing models do not fully utilize the precious node label information. To address the above issues, this paper proposes a semi-supervised GNN-based fraud detector SEC-GFD. This detector includes a hybrid filtering module and a local environmental constraint module, the two modules are utilized to solve heterophily and label utilization problem respectively. The first module starts from the perspective of the spectral domain, and solves the heterophily problem to a certain extent. Specifically, it divides the spectrum into various mixed-frequency bands based on the correlation between spectrum energy distribution and heterophily. Then in order to make full use of the node label information, a local environmental constraint module is adaptively designed. The comprehensive experimental results on four real-world fraud detection datasets denote that SEC-GFD outperforms other competitive graph-based fraud detectors. We release our code at https://github.com/Sunxkissed/SEC-GFD.

Underwater image enhancement (UIE) aims to generate clear images from low-quality underwater images. Due to the unavailability of clear reference images, researchers often synthesize them to construct paired datasets for training deep models. However, these synthesized images may sometimes lack quality, adversely affecting training outcomes. To address this issue, we propose UIE with Diffusion Prior (UIEDP), a novel framework treating UIE as a posterior distribution sampling process of clear images conditioned on degraded underwater inputs. Specifically, UIEDP combines a pre-trained diffusion model capturing natural image priors with any existing UIE algorithm, leveraging the latter to guide conditional generation. The diffusion prior mitigates the drawbacks of inferior synthetic images, resulting in higher-quality image generation. Extensive experiments have demonstrated that our UIEDP yields significant improvements across various metrics, especially no-reference image quality assessment. And the generated enhanced images also exhibit a more natural appearance.

The corresponding product branching fraction is $\mathcal{B}[J/ψ\rightarrowγX(2370)] \times \mathcal{B}[X(2370) \rightarrow f_{0}(980)η^{\prime}] \times \mathcal{B}[f_{0}(980) \rightarrow K^{0}_{S}K^{0}_{S}] = \left( 1.31 \pm 0.22 ({\rm stat})^{+2.85}_{-0.84}({\rm syst}) \right) \times 10^{-5}$. The statistical significance of the $X(2370)$ is greater than $11.7σ$ and the spin-parity is determined to be $0^{-+}$ for the first time. The measured mass and spin-parity of the $X(2370)$ are consistent with the predictions of the lightest pseudoscalar glueball.

Pre-trained vision-language models have notably accelerated progress of open-world concept recognition. Their impressive zero-shot ability has recently been transferred to multi-label image classification via prompt tuning, enabling to discover novel labels in an open-vocabulary manner. However, this paradigm suffers from non-trivial training costs, and becomes computationally prohibitive for a large number of candidate labels. To address this issue, we note that vision-language pre-training aligns images and texts in a unified embedding space, making it potential for an adapter network to identify labels in visual modality while be trained in text modality. To enhance such cross-modal transfer ability, a simple yet effective method termed random perturbation is proposed, which enables the adapter to search for potential visual embeddings by perturbing text embeddings with noise during training, resulting in better performance in visual modality. Furthermore, we introduce an effective approach to employ large language models for multi-label instruction-following text generation. In this way, a fully automated pipeline for visual label recognition is developed without relying on any manual data. Extensive experiments on public benchmarks show the superiority of our method in various multi-label classification tasks.

A dissipationless longitudinal current can be generated by a pure magnetic field through the chiral magnetic effect. Herein, we propose that a pure oscillating magnetic field through Zeeman coupling can further drive an AC magnetic Hall current in two-dimensional systems without inversion symmetry. We dub this effect the "gyrotropic magnetic Hall effect" (GMHE), in analogy with the gyrotropic current achieved by rectifying the optical fields. Importantly, we find that the GMHE conductivity is a reactive or dissipationless transport coefficient, which is even under time-reversal symmetry. We reveal the "Zeeman Berry curvature" as the quantum origin of the GMHE, whose integral over all states below the Fermi energy gives the GMHE conductivity. Furthermore, by symmetry analysis, we show that the GMHE can appear in a wide range of two-dimensional materials. To demonstrate our proposal, we evaluate the GMHE current in two-dimensional Rashba system and in the surface of topological insulator, where a low-frequency magnetic field with a small amplitude can be converted into a detectable Hall voltage.

Facial geometry and appearance capture have demonstrated tremendous success in 3D scanning real humans in studios. Recent works propose to democratize this technique while keeping the results high quality. However, they are still inconvenient for daily usage. In addition, they focus on an easier problem of only capturing facial skin. This paper proposes a novel method for high-quality face capture, featuring an easy-to-use system and the capability to model the complete face with skin, mouth interior, hair, and eyes. We reconstruct facial geometry and appearance from a single co-located smartphone flashlight sequence captured in a dim room where the flashlight is the dominant light source (e.g. rooms with curtains or at night). To model the complete face, we propose a novel hybrid representation to effectively model both eyes and other facial regions, along with novel techniques to learn it from images. We apply a combined lighting model to compactly represent real illuminations and exploit a morphable face albedo model as a reflectance prior to disentangle diffuse and specular. Experiments show that our method can capture high-quality 3D relightable scans.
