Heart disease is a serious global health issue that claims millions of lives every year. Early detection and precise prediction are critical to the prevention and successful treatment of heart related issues. A lot of research utilizes machine learning (ML) models to forecast cardiac disease and obtain early detection. In order to do predictive analysis on "Heart disease health indicators " dataset. We employed five machine learning methods in this paper: Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), Linear Discriminant Analysis, Extra Tree Classifier, and AdaBoost. The model is further examined using various feature selection (FS) techniques. To enhance the baseline model, we have separately applied four FS techniques: Sequential Forward FS, Sequential Backward FS, Correlation Matrix, and Chi2. Lastly, K means SMOTE oversampling is applied to the models to enable additional analysis. The findings show that when it came to predicting heart disease, ensemble approaches in particular, random forests performed better than individual classifiers. The presence of smoking, blood pressure, cholesterol, and physical inactivity were among the major predictors that were found. The accuracy of the Random Forest and Decision Tree model was 99.83%. This paper demonstrates how machine learning models can improve the accuracy of heart disease prediction, especially when using ensemble methodologies. The models provide a more accurate risk assessment than traditional methods since they incorporate a large number of factors and complex algorithms.

Radio Access Networks (RAN) are increasingly softwarized and accessible via data-collection and control interfaces. RAN intelligent control (RIC) is an approach to manage these interfaces at different timescales. In this paper, we develop a RIC platform called RICworld, consisting of (i) EdgeRIC, which is colocated, but decoupled from the RAN stack, and can access RAN and application-level information to execute AI-optimized and other policies in realtime (sub-millisecond) and (ii) DigitalTwin, a full-stack, trace-driven emulator for training AI-based policies offline. We demonstrate that realtime EdgeRIC operates as if embedded within the RAN stack and significantly outperforms a cloud-based near-realtime RIC (> 15 ms latency) in terms of attained throughput. We train AI-based polices on DigitalTwin, execute them on EdgeRIC, and show that these policies are robust to channel dynamics, and outperform queueing-model based policies by 5% to 25% on throughput and application-level benchmarks in a variety of mobile environments.

Artificial Intelligence is one of the most revolutionizing technologies, and the predictive power of its machine learning models can help detect intrusions and misbehaviors. Similarly, empowering the state-of-the-art IoV security framework with blockchain can make it secure and resilient. This article discusses joint AI and blockchain for security, privacy and trust-related risks in IoV. This paper also presents problems, challenges, requirements and solutions using ML and blockchain to address aforementioned issues in IoV.

Air pollution poses a serious threat to sustainable environmental conditions in the 21st century. Its importance in determining the health and living standards in urban settings is only expected to increase with time. Various factors ranging from artificial emissions to natural phenomena are known to be primary causal agents or influencers behind rising air pollution levels. However, the lack of large scale data involving the major artificial and natural factors has hindered the research on the causes and relations governing the variability of the different air pollutants. Through this work, we introduce a large scale city-wise dataset for exploring the relationships among these agents over a long period of time. We also introduce a transformer based model - cosSquareFormer, for the problem of pollutant level estimation and forecasting. Our model outperforms most of the benchmark models for this task. We also analyze and explore the dataset through our model and other methodologies to bring out important inferences which enable us to understand the dynamics of the causal agents at a deeper level. Through our paper, we seek to provide a great set of foundations for further research into this domain that will demand critical attention of ours in the near future.

In this Chapter, a software-defined network (SDN)-based framework for future smart cities has been proposed and discussed. It also comprises a distributed addressing scheme to facilitate the allocation of addresses to devices in the smart city dynamically. The framework is dynamic and modules can be added and omitted by a centralized controlling unit without disturbing the other components of the framework and other modules may be updated accordingly. In the proposed addressing scheme, a new Internet of Things (IoT) device will receive an IP address from one of their existing neighboring peer devices. This allows devices in the city to act as a proxy and generate a set of unique IP addresses from their own IP addresses, which can then be assigned to new (joining) devices; hence, reducing addressing overhead and latency, as well as avoiding the need to send broadcast messages during the address allocation process. Thus, it achieves considerable bandwidth and energy savings for the IoT devices.

In this work, we have formulated a controllerhypervisor (C-H) pair deployment approach to provide various network functions (such as differentiation between control and data signals, different translation functions etc.) with low latency. The system model deals with a real network topology and four well defined network latency matrices with an MILP model has been well constructed to optimize latency objectives. Reverse Path-Flow Mechanism (RPFM) has been proposed in order to provide feasible solutions by keeping the network load and link capacity constrained under tolerance limit. We further minimize the H-plane load by distributing the network resources based on the arrival time of SERVICE IN requests from users. Through extensive experiment, the efficacy of the proposed system has been demonstrated in terms of significant latency reduction and an e-ULL (evolved-Ultra Low Latency) experience with efficient handling of all real-time user demands. The proposed approach can be used for similar localization problems like service chain mapping in 5G-NR, baseband unit deployment in 5G C-RAN, firewall deployment in distributed CPS.

It also generates a session key for each pair of source-destination nodes of a MANET for securing the end-to-end transmitted data. Here each node has an ID which is evaluated from its public key and the messages that are sent are authenticated with a signature/ MAC. The proposed scheme does not allow a node to change its ID throughout the network lifetime. Thus it makes the network secure against attacks that target AODV and TCP in MANET. We present performance analysis to validate our claim.
