Improving the health and wellbeing of Australians by making movement a part of everyday life.
Über uns
Here at Bluearth, we make a difference to the lives of thousands of Aussie kids every day. Our team is truly devoted to active living, working across communities to build a healthier Australia one step at a time. The Bluearth Foundation is a registered charity and has been working in Australian communities since 2000. The Foundations key messages are that: - Moving is essential for life - When people discover the joy of moving the benefits extend a lifetime - Kids are missing out on the benefits of an active life - Everyone has a role to play in creating an active nation We have a vision for a healthier and active Australia and want the next generation of children to value the importance of movement in everyday life. We share our vision through schools, families, corporations and the wider community. We are working across metropolitan, regional and remote communities, providing positive experiences for children in movement and activity and teaching educators, parents and carers about the importance of being positive active role models in a child's life. We offer opportunities for Australians to invest in building a happier and healthier future for our children through corporate partnerships, sponsorship, donations and philanthropic investments.

Laughter really is a good medicine. Moving well isn't just about exercise in its traditional form. That's why we take a holistic approach that targets both the body and the mind. Laughter helps relax muscles, release endorphins and get air into your lungs, plus it just feels great. #bluearth #bluearthfoundation #activekidsarehappykids #australianschools #laughter #happymindhappybody

Active play is an amazing vehicle for a child’s holistic development. Here is how it can help them develop physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually: Physically - Engaging in activities such as jumping, kicking and climbing helps children develop fine motor skills, gross motor skills, coordination, and balance, which are all an essential part of everyday function. Socially - When children partake in active play, they have the chance to interact and socialise with their peers. They will learn how to work together, share, take turns and listen to each other’s ideas. If conflicts arise, they can be guided on how to resolve them in a peaceful and positive way, helping them develop empathy. Emotionally - Active play gives children the opportunity to try new things without the fear of being wrong or failing, helping them develop confidence and self-respect. Imaginative play in particular lets them explore their emotions and express themselves. Intellectually - When children engage in active play on their own or with others they’ll build essential cognitive skills such as critical thinking, remembering, problem-solving and paying attention. #bluearth #bluearthfoundation #activeplay #activekids #activechildren #childdevelopment #learnandgrow #movingtogether

Active play is exploratory movement that aids children in their holistic development - helping them build essential physical, social, emotional and intellectual skills. Whatever movement it entails, active play is a powerful vehicle that builds the groundwork for a child’s wellbeing. That’s why it’s something we encourage parents and caregivers to engage in with kids. #bluearth #bluearthfoundation #activeplay #activekids #activechildren #childdevelopment #learnandgrow #movingtogether

Up for a challenge? Using a common household object, the Cup Challenge develops listening, reaction time, coordination and agility. Here’s how it works: Nominate someone to give you instructions and place four different coloured plastic cups upside down on the floor in front of you. The instructor will say a random order of heads, shoulders, knees, toes etc. then a colour of one of the cups. It’s your job to pick up the corresponding cup and hold it in the air as quickly as possible. Challenge yourself by spreading the cups out around you and standing in the middle of them, ready to pounce once the colour is announced. After a few rounds, swap with the instructor. #bluearth #bluearthfoundation #movements #physicalactivities #moveathome #agility #coordination #reactiontime #listeningskills
