Meet Trent Ross a Project Manager in our Asphalt team In just over five months at our Montrose Plant, Trent increased the use of recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) to over 35 per cent, he has expanded the RAP grades we use, more than doubled our RAP feeder speed, reduced RAP delivery to the Pugmill down to just eight seconds, improve recycled glass usage and reduced plant reject stock by more than half as well. As Project Manager for Boral in Victoria, Trent took on the ambitious task of optimising our Victorian Asphalt plant operations. Our Montrose plant previously produced around 50,000 tonnes of asphalt a year, under Trent’s leadership the facility is now on track to produce 75,000 tonnes this year, with projections to reach 100,000 tonnes in 2025. Boral's Next-Generation Lower Carbon Concrete: Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future   Boral, in partnership with industry leaders and researchers, is pioneering a new lower carbon concrete using Australian calcined clay. This innovative material, developed in collaboration with University of Technology Sydney, Transport for NSW, and Calix Limited, supports the decarbonisation of Australia's buildings and infrastructure.   Our ongoing two-year project, co-funded by SmartCrete CRC, aims to validate the technical feasibility of this breakthrough. Early results are promising, showcasing the potential to reduce carbon intensity in construction.   Dr Ali Nezhad, our Head of Sustainability and Innovation and Boral lead on the calcined clay project, said: “We have been impressed with the work done to date and initial testing in this project is promising. We look forward to the building and construction industry in Australia embracing these new innovations.”   Our CEO and Managing Director Vik Bansal said: "Boral is committed to a lower carbon future and we never stand still. 🚜 Teven Quarry Open Day: A Community Celebration! 🏞️ Recently, Teven Quarry near Ballina hosted a delightful community breakfast. Bev, a local resident of 54 years, enjoyed a special tour with Quarry Manager Dick Pallisier, reflecting on decades of changes at the site. Quarry Supervisor Lucas Gregg brought his kids, Oliver and Zoe, who had a blast exploring our machinery—potential future loader operators in the making! The event also provided a chance to discuss upcoming modification and State Significant Development applications. Dick showcased aerial photos from the 1950s, illustrating the quarry’s evolution over time.
