R U OK? Day is a reminder that a simple conversation can change lives. Yesterday, the IPAR team had the privilege of hearing from Sam Tait, Australian Paralympian sit-skier, in a special webinar hosted by IPAR’s National Mental Health Strategies team. Sam acquired paraplegia at the age of 22, after breaking his T11 vertebrae in a motorcycle accident. During the webinar, Sam shared his experiences about the challenges he had to overcome, the strategies he used and the importance of not letting the fear of failure get in the way of achieving his goals on his Paralympic journey. Thank you to Sam for joining us and for sharing your story.

Wishing a very happy IPARversary to Andrea Windebank, Aaron Bowes and Michelle Martin who all join IPAR’s 10 Year Club this month! Congratulations on reaching this wonderful milestone and thank you for always sharing your passion, expertise and big hearts in all that you do. ⭐Andrea Windebank⭐ Andrea manages IPAR’s Tasmanian operations which has excelled under her exceptional leadership. Originally starting out at IPAR as a Different Employer consultant in our Newcastle branch, Andrea progressed into a Team Leader role. Then in 2020, Andrea relocated her family to Tasmania to manage IPAR’s Tassie operations - originally moving for a couple of years, but she loved it so much that she decided to stay! As a Psychologist, Andrea has taken a keen interest in helping to promote a collaborative and supportive team culture at IPAR, driving initiatives with empathy and excellence. One of our incredible working mums, Andrea heads up IPAR’s ‘i-parent’ working group, ensuring that all of our new and soon-to-be parents receive the support they need to thrive at work and at home, just as Andrea has done. Andrea has been recently recognised as a Finalist in the Exceptional Leadership category at the inaugural Tasmanian ARPA Awards to be hosted in October. ⭐Aaron Bowes⭐ As an Exercise Physiologist wanting to make a true difference to those impacted by injury and illness, Aaron has developed from being an exceptional Rehabilitation Consultant, to Operations Leader and then Customer Experience Manager. With a passion for helping those with persistent pain, in the last two years Aaron has found his calling - starting up Re-thinking Recovery which has fundamentally shifted the industry in how persistent pain is managed and provided opportunities for his colleagues to apply their clinical skills in a new and exciting way. Never short of a bold idea and with boundless energy, Aaron’s impact in his field has been profound. His achievements are many but were highlighted in 2023 by being the recipient of the ARPA Victoria Innovation in RTW Award. ⭐Michelle Martin⭐ Michelle has gone from strength to strength during her time as CSS Team Leader, displaying an unwavering commitment to supporting and developing her team of Vocational Consultants, always ensuring their well-being is at the forefront of her mind. Michelle has steadily built upon her skills as a high-performing leader in various roles through the IPAR business over the years, originally joining the team as a New Employer consultant in Melbourne, then progressing through to Senior Rehabilitation Consultant and Principal Consultant. With her vast level of experience as a Rehabilitation Counsellor, and approachable style of leadership, Michelle is an amazing mentor to her team, helping them to deliver an exceptional service each day to our Injured Workers and exceeds customer expectations. Thank you Andrea, Aaron and Michelle on an amazing decade with IPAR. #HappyAnniversary #10YearClub #TeamIPAR

This morning, our IPAR Tasmania team were joined by Access Psych to host an educational breakfast forum for our Hobart claims managers. The seminar focussed on collaboration in managing mental health claims. Guests were able to hear directly from Ben French, a treating psychologist, and IPAR’s Andrea Windebank on how to get the information you need and practical tips in the identification and management of secondary psychological injuries. Thank you to everyone who attended this morning. #IPAR #AccessPsych #MentalHealth #SeekingBetterTogether
