As the gateway to Western Australia, Perth Airport is Australia’s fourth largest airport in terms of passenger traffic and plays a vital role in the economic and social development of the state. Only 12 kilometres from the heart of Perth, the capital of Western Australia, the airport is part of a 2,105 hectare estate that offers significant aeronautical infrastructure, and high quality commercial and industrial developments that are primely located near major access corridors. Perth Airport is operated by Perth Airport Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Perth Airport Development Group Pty Ltd, under a 50-year lease with a 49-year option granted by the Commonwealth Government in 1997. Perth Airport is closely involved with Tourism WA in promoting Western Australia as an attractive destination for overseas visitors and has a strong focus on working with airlines to increase the number of passengers travelling to and from Western Australia. With more than16 million passengers travelling through the airport annually, this number is expected to grow to 34 million passengers by 2034. Perth Airport has announced a $5bn infrastructure program which will include a new terminal, two new multi-storey car parks, an airport hotel and a new parallel runway. This program is due to be completed by 2031.

📣 UPDATE ON SUSPENSION OF REX JET SERVICES   Administrators for Rex airlines have ceased all interstate jet services.   This means the recently commenced Rex jet services between Perth and Melbourne, and Perth and Adelaide have unfortunately been cancelled.   Jetstar, Qantas, and Virgin have offered to try to find seats free of charge for passengers booked on interstate Rex flights.   Passengers should contact Jetstar ( 13 15 38), Qantas ( 13 13 13) or Virgin (13 67 89) asap to book.   Rex flights to regional WA are currently not affected and are flying as normal.   We will continue to work with the Rex team here at Perth Airport to operate their regional services from T2.

We’ve recorded our highest ever annual passenger numbers in FY24, breaking the 16-million passenger mark for the first time. In FY24 more than 16.1 million passengers travelled through Perth Airport, easily outstripping the previous record figure of 14.9 million in FY14. With Western Australia’s aviation sector soaring we are getting on with the job of investing more than $5 billion in new infrastructure to provide the additional capacity our airline partners need to grow their businesses. Over the coming decade we will expand the international terminal, and build new domestic terminal facilities, a parallel runway, two multi-storey carparks and our first airport hotel. This will deliver one airport for the people of Western Australia which will host all flight services in a central location giving passengers a seamless, world-class travel experience. https://lnkd.in/g6rPYc6E
