The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) is Queensland’s largest mutual organisation, meaning it exists entirely for the benefit of its members and the communities in which they live. Established in 1905 as an advocate for the rights of motorists, RACQ has evolved over 117 years into a multidimensional organisation providing services and products in a range of areas including motoring, insurance, banking and travel. Employing more than 2200 people state-wide across more than 50 locations, RACQ is committed to being a club for all Queenslanders. That commitment extends beyond the business lines of banking, insurance and assistance – the Club also supports the Queensland community through our iconic annual car enthusiast event, MotorFest, major sponsorships including the RACQ Choppers and Rescue Network and Ekka presented by RACQ, and grassroots sponsorships via our Local Giving program. Whether it’s delivering road safety and financial literacy education in classrooms, advocating for motorists and consumers, sponsoring community organisations or helping Queenslanders get back on their feet through the RACQ Foundation, the Club has an unwavering focus on staying true to its purpose – to make a positive difference to the lives of its members, now and into the future. Our powerful #BloomsForBlokes campaign was back in Queen Street Mall this morning for Queensland Road Safety Week. In the past five years, more than triple the number of males were killed on Queensland roads compared to females. And the first-time most blokes receive flowers is at their funeral. We want that to change. Our team encouraged people to take a flower and gift it to a special man in their life while they're still alive. Remind them to drive safely and tell them how much they'd be missed if they were gone. Learn more here: bit.ly/3T7svx3 #BloomsForBlokes #QRSW

And that’s a wrap on the Mobile Lenders Personal Development Conference at the RACQ Mobility Centre! This year’s theme was “Green & Growing” and focused on everything from presentation skills, effective collaboration, marketing skills and more. We're delighted to have such a passionate lending team and can't wait to see them put these learnings into practice. #RACQBank

Our talent and leadership development specialists Annette Moffitt and Kathryn Kneller revved up their week with a #DayInTheLife experience at RACQ’s Mobility Centre. This program presents a great opportunity to strengthen relationships and gain a deeper understanding of how different parts of the organisation operate. Here's what they had to say. 👇 “We were so intrigued to learn more about this world-class venue and get up close with some extraordinary cars and drivers; it’s not every day you get to sit in a million-dollar Porsche GT3 RS! Another memorable moment was joining the resident wallabies to admire the Porsche Experience team perform timed laps and skilful drifts." Kathryn said. "Our day was filled with insightful interactions, led by the RACQ Mobility Centre Manager, Robert Carnell. We learnt about the Centre’s unique business operations and now have a greater appreciation for the incredible work being done at this venue." Annette said. #PeopleOfRACQ

Today we joined forces with leading Queensland organisations to urge all political parties to #FixTheBruce, with new data revealing it has an average Fatal and Serious Injury (FSI) crash rate three to five times higher than major national highways in New South Wales and Victoria. Our Managing Director and CEO David Carter said the shocking statistics highlight the urgent need to Fix the Bruce. “The Bruce Highway is the backbone of this state, it’s supposed to be a national highway but when you compare it to the Pacific or Hume, it’s substandard.” With the support of Local Government Association of Queensland, Queensland Farmers' Federation, Queensland Trucking Association Ltd, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Queensland Tourism Industry Council, our aim is to receive a commitment from State and Federal Governments to commit to a 10-year funding plan and eliminate all two-star sections of the Bruce Highway. #AForceForGood bit.ly/3Aa5QJS

In a huge win for motorists, today the State Government announced, if re-elected, it will impose a five cent cap on daily fuel price increases across Queensland – an idea we researched, developed and advocated for. Our policy team analysed three decades’ worth of data to see how fuel companies had changed the price cycle. Back in 2010 Qld motorists had an opportunity to fill up at a cheap price every week, whereas now there are only around nine opportunities a year to get cheaper fuel. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer David Carter said, “With cost-of-living pressures affecting so many Queensland households, being able to plan and sustain your fuel budget is vital. While the new 50 cent public transport trial is a great initiative, not everyone has access to reliable public transport, so we need greater stability - not excessive margins - in the fuel market to get Queenslanders where they need to be. We are an apolitical organisation that supports good policy and we urge the LNP to support this proposal too.” bit.ly/3ysFAKe #AdvocacyWin

Last week our motoring editor Gerard Bulmer joined our sister clubs at the ABMARC Industry Open Day at the Australian Automotive Research Centre (AARC). We were lucky to receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how ABMARC conducts real-world emissions and fuel efficiency tests and helps research programs, including the club-owned Road Safety Research Program project on distracted driving. It was great to see first-hand the technology keeping motorists safe and informed. A big thank you to ABMARC and the Australian Automobile Association for the invitation!

As Queensland's largest member-owned Club, it's in our DNA to deliver the best member experience possible, which is why we are proud to be nationally recognised by Canstar for our commitment to service. Chief Executive Insurance Trent Sayers said, "With Car Insurance we’re aware that we are often dealing with members in some of the most stressful times of their life, so to be nationally recognised is a testament to our hard-working teams."
