Employee Spotlight: Introducing the amazing Marcela Ogawa Sampaio! In every organisation, there are stories of individuals who exemplify dedication, resilience, and a remarkable spirit of growth. Today, we are delighted to share the inspiring journey of Marcela a valued member of our SunPork family. Her remarkable voyage from Brazil to Australia and her continuous growth within our company is a testament to her unwavering commitment. In 2014, Marcela took a bold step to transform her life. Dissatisfied with the familiar surroundings of Brazil, she set her sights on new horizons, eventually choosing Australia as her destination. To pave the way for this extraordinary journey, she made the difficult decision to sell all her possessions, including a cherished but modest car, and embarked on a new chapter as an English student. In her pursuit of financial stability, Marcela took on various jobs, including roles as a cook, cleaner, bar attendant, clothes ironer, and fragrance seller. These experiences not only allowed her to pay the bills but also instilled in her the resilience and adaptability that would become hallmarks of her professional career. Three years after arriving in Australia, Marcela found herself at SunPork, and her progression within our organisation has been admirable. She began as a casual worker, assisting one of our Researchers with laboratory work. Her dedication and commitment quickly moved her into a part-time role as a Benchmarking Support Officer, where she played a crucial role in managing Metafarms activities. As she continued to grow, Marcela seized an exciting opportunity to join the Science Technology and Adoption (STA) team as Technical Officer. After 18 months in this position, yet another opportunity came knocking - the position of a Nutritionist. Marcela was now going to work with something she truly loved, bringing her expertise from Brazil to the realm of Ruminants. It was a dream come true, and she embraced it with unmatched enthusiasm. In Marcela's own words, "I cannot thank enough everyone who has been part of my SunPork journey." Each role, and each person she has worked with, has been instrumental in shaping her path and instilling in her a wealth of knowledge. She is immensely grateful for the supportive and enjoyable environment that SunPork has provided throughout her career. Marcela highlights that her journey to Australian citizenship was not without its challenges. As immigrants, she knows all too well the hurdles and obstacles one must overcome to become a full-fledged member of this extraordinary country. She expresses her deep appreciation to SunPork for the role it played in helping her achieve this significant milestone. Thank you, Marcela, for sharing your incredible journey with us, and for being an inspiration to all of us at SunPork.
