About us
Join Sydney content strategists, information architects, website managers and designers to talk about crafting the best digital strategy for users. This is a fun and collaborative meetup run by Elle from Elle Geraghty Content Strategy :) The Sydney Content Strategy meetup meets every two months to talk content strategy. We share case studies, swap resources and workshop thorny issues. If you have a great case study or concept to present - please get in contact. It's always best to come to a couple of meetups to see how things work first :) Past topics have included content modelling, stakeholder management, tools to test information architecture, crafting voice and tone, content design and the core model. We take a very high-level approach to improving digital ecosystems.

Loved the images peeps made at the last meetup!
One of the reasons the Sydney Content Strategy Meetup is so awesome is that we always end the night with a workshop exercise. Last week, because we had a panel on imaging the future, we decided to create AI images of our work in ten years. We got some very silly and very fun results. These examples were made by Sarah Spence and Matt Norman.

Monday night! Just wrapped up another amazing Content Strategy event by Elle Geraghty! This meet-up group is fantastic, I've been exploring new content strategy concepts in that I have never heard of since 2016, and I don’t even work in content strategy! Tonight, we delved into the future of content and technology with brilliant minds like Oliver Weidlich & Kate Thomas. Key sparks: How we went from the traditional pen-and-paper methods to codify and share knowledge to monitors and phones. There was a case made that there is not much difference in terms of input/output between monitors and phone. So the future of content is multimodal: There was a cool example of AI helping you shop by reviewing your home layout with VR, discussing price, shipping power, and features in real-time! I was initially excited about the potential of AI, imagining each employee with an army of AI agents at their disposal. And then we had a chat with Kristen Patchett and Tracey Sen and they brought a fun dose of cynical and a touch skeptical table which I embraced! 😆 Look how long it took for QR codes to find its place. How about the VR hype? How does new technology really drive transformation in the day to day and how is it adopted by the everyday people? We also covered biased language models and the environmental impacts of data centers, highlighting the need for governance (the UN has set up an AI working group to address these issues). How do you see the role of content strategists evolving with the diminishing barrier between content and technology? What are your thoughts on the ethical considerations of AI, especially regarding environmental impact and inclusivity? #ContentStrategy #AI #Technology #FutureOfWork

Let's gaze into the future :) What will content work look like in 2034? Ten years from now! The best speculative fiction is a reflection and analysis of our current times mixed with predictions for the future. This will be an optimistic and creative look at the future. What will our content practice look like - specifically - How will we meet the needs of users? How will we measure the effectiveness of our content iniatives? How will we create content about difficult and nuanced stations? What fun tools and techniques will we use? https://lnkd.in/gvGARXzr

ChatGPT can be great for brainstorming and summarising content, but can it actually contribute towards high-quality, high-risk customer-facing content? Sarah Spence, CEO of Content Rebels, will lead that conversation at our April meetup. https://lnkd.in/gstg-rvW

Hello friends of Sydney Content Strategy Meetup, Just this year alone, the IXDA conference, IXDA meetup, UX Australia and now the content stream at Web Directions have all been cancelled. It seems like a really good time to take stock and find out what you love about the meetup and what we can do differently. In particular, what makes a IRL meetup important to you? Can you fill out this survey? We can look at the results at the next meeting on Monday. https://lnkd.in/g2KHmfV7
