Melissa has experience serving on boards and committees in governance, healthcare, regulation, and innovation. She is director of her family company, a boutique IT services firm with a diverse portfolio of clients. She mentors and actively encourages others to serve and is an active member of the community, including as a board member of an independent school and a philanthropic trust.
In the health system, Melissa works constructively with others towards better, safer, person-centred care. Roles vary depending on the position, including board member, health consumer expert, health consumer representative and advocate. Focus is safe care and high-quality care, bringing a sound, strategic and experienced community perspective with up-to-date knowledge, coupled with governance knowledge.
She enjoys working with and learning from the First Nations peoples of Australia, and lives on Kaurna Country.
