Award winning entrepreneur and speaker Remi Pearson is one of the world’s most successful life coaches and the driving force behind global school The Coaching Institute.
Since she started The Coaching Institute in Melbourne in 2004, Remi has become a touchstone for students—85 per cent of them women—determined to heal life’s hurts and embrace true fulfillment.
Inspirational to both people with self doubt and those of influence seeking to be the best they can be, she built TCI on her guiding values of wisdom, love, irreverence, determination and growth.
“I make mistakes, I play full-out, I have ‘non-fans’ and supporters, and I don’t have all the answers. I have challenging days where I’m not at my best, and I have wonderful experiences that I never dreamed would be my reality,” says Remi.

18 months after she stared her life coaching journey, Remi landed a national contract with Flight Centre and in 2004 redefined the coaching training space when she wrote the first nationally accredited 21647VIC Diploma of Life Coaching.
In 2006 Remi and her team won the Telstra Victorian Micro Business Award, and a year later the business achieved its first $10 million year. Remi redefined coaching again in 2013 when she released the research-based coaching methodology – Meta Dynamics™.
When Remi designed, wrote, and launched the Ultimate You Quest program through TCI—a 12-week personal empowerment program that is the culmination of 17 years' work—her influence expanded into 81 countries.
In 2019, during her inaugural world tour, she launched Ultimate You at New York’s Barnes and Noble bookstore. Remi’s seventh book on coaching, personal development, business success and leadership, it became an international best seller and No. 1 on Amazon.
Her podcast, BraveHeart was also launched in 2019 and has become the prominent platform for Remi and thought leaders around the world to share a deeper conversation on their unique perspectives in life, business, leadership, technology, society, culture, and the world. Her interviews with such luminaries as world's most influential living philosopher, Peter Singer, Michael E Gerber, No #1 small business guru, and Dr Richard Schwartz, the creator of IFS Therapy have gained 11million views & counting.

You’re a Business Coaching professional. How do you stay ahead of the competition?
Business coaching/mentoring is ultimately about mindset… The mindset of the coach, firstly. I own businesses, have built businesses, and invest in businesses, so I have learned to think as a business owner and entrepreneur. My clients rely on my expertise, not just my capacity to ask insightful questions. We need to be able to see the obvious pitfalls for the business owner, the consequences, the unfolding play. This takes being passionate about how to think as a thriving business owner, not simply as a coach. The capacity to think inductively is vital… Deduction sees what is there. Induction sees the possibilities. Growth ultimately is an induction. That’s where the fun is.

How can you maximize your earnings as a self-employed personal coach?
Having worked with tens of thousands of clients over the years, there are commonalities in what people seek… Belonging. Community. Experiences. To feel they matter. To feel they are part of something bigger than themselves. To be fully and wholeheartedly accepted and embraced for who they are. Our wholehearted commitment to their experience makes the biggest difference to how our clients feel about us. We want them to adore being with us, so let’s adore them :). If it’s easy to adore them, then we can build a community together. I never think of it as ‘I’m getting a client’. It’s always, ‘I get to live my purpose of bringing forth love with this beautiful person.’

How can you maximize your earnings as a self-employed personal coach?
The greatest ‘skill’ to learn to succeed in this space, like all of life, is to be as generous as possible with your heart, your care, and your focus on the client - and the potential client. Our own growth occurs through our acts of service, not through the knowledge we gain. We can be well-educated, and not be generous with our hearts. We can memorised whole books and courses, but if we don’t have a servant’s heart, then what is the point? There is an epidemic of disconnection, isolation, and self-doubt in the western world. We heal this by bringing forth our love, our care, and our compassion. Learn to give generously, without hesitation. I have always had an abundance of clients because joining with me felt the most loving act.

How do you elicit and clarify your client's values in a coaching session?
Values precede goals & actions, & are the unconscious conditioning that drives much of what motivates us. Well-being is improved when we have goals that are "self-concordant", & this means pursuing goals & expressing authentic choices that represent passions & central values. To do this, we help clients: (1) Become clear on their values; (2) Check the values they have are what they want; (3) Upgrade values that are no longer aligned with how they see themselves; (4) set goals that are aligned with their values being expressed. The process for doing this is one of the most important conversations we can have with a client, as it will be central to what goals they pursue in their life and contributes to their sense of well-being.
