    We're absolutely thrilled to share this incredible milestone coming from our Brussels office ⬇ The Zero Residual Waste certificate shows that we are committed to sustainability, and highlights the power of collective effort: a big thank you to everyone at the Gare Maritime office for leading by example and making a significant impact on our environmental footprint 🌱 And a special shoutout to Silke Lepée, the Eco-Action Team, and our partners ISS Facility Services Belgique & Luxembourg, and Ecosmart (Renewi België / Belgique) for their relentless dedication and innovative approaches to waste management 👏

    We are very proud to announce that Accenture Belgium has obtained the Zero Residual Waste certificate for the Brussels office at Gare Maritime! This certification recognizes our efforts to eliminate waste from our operations at the sustainable Gare Maritime office, in collaboration with our waste management partner, Ecosmart (Renewi België / Belgique), and our integrated facilities management company, ISS Facility Services Belgium & Luxembourg. In January 2023, we embarked on a journey to raise awareness among our Accenture colleagues about the importance of reducing waste and ensuring proper disposal of unavoidable waste. Operationally, we've been working closely with ISS and our suppliers to either reduce or innovate packaging waste solutions. Thanks to these efforts, today, we now just generate 5 - 10 grams of residual waste per day per visitor at the Accenture Gare Maritime office.   Our journey doesn’t stop here. We remain committed to working with our colleagues, suppliers, and procurement teams to ensure that the zero waste sustainability mindset is embedded in our DNA and processes.   A big thank you to: - **All Accenture colleagues** who consistently reduce and sort waste daily. -**Accenture Eco Action Team** who are a driving force in awareness creation and finding solutions for the remaining waste streams - **ISS team**, led by Kathleen De Doncker, for thinking along, working with suppliers to reduce waste, taking trainings, being mindful about sorting rules, and sharing their knowledge with Accenture colleagues. - **Ecosmart**, particularly Dominique Brans and Vincent Jacob, for their guidance in obtaining the certificate and for their continuous efforts to keep our sorted waste clean and to find alternative packaging solutions.   Our efforts are not just about achieving a certificate but about having less impact on the environment, ensuring waste management practices are embedded in the organization and constantly improving these waste management practices.   Read more about Accenture’s environmental program here: Responsible Company | Accenture - https://lnkd.in/etNymR9G

    From summery afterworks to end of the (school) year meet-ups, June was busy and the office was buzzing with partnerships, events, inclusion and innovation all month long. Here's all about it:   📑 We gathered for the #GenAI Executive Gathering to discuss the complexities of the EU’s AI legislation. Our Responsible AI Lead EMEA, Laetitia Cailleteau, and Arnab Chakraborty, Accenture's first Chief Responsible AI Officer, delivered immersive breakout workshops and talks to our clients, tailored to their specific industries   ☁️ We held the Solstice Cloud Security Summit of our partners from the Belgian Cyber Security Coalition. So many insightful presentations about academia, public bodies and the private sector uniting and fostering collaboration to fight evolving threats!   🤝 We hosted the summer event of DigitAll, and it was an all-time high. Signing again new commitments to address inequality regarding digital skills in the Belgium means that we'll continue to strive for an inclusive digital landscape where everyone can thrive   💡 We continued exploring the latest innovations in the market and we invited CyborgNest to discuss connected wearables, and Hentrac to learn about supply chain traceability. Internally, our Accenture Song team held the final of the Song Rise Up contest, which had teams working together in fictive cases to bring forward the best of our skills in customer-focused innovative technologies.   📖 We kept on investing in our corporate citizenship initiatives and supporting our partners in education and entrepreneurship. We organized a job fair with Team4Job and Proximus, flew to Oslo to participate in the Europe-wide AI for Education Awards, supported by Belgium's 40 under 40 and Microsoft, attended BeCode.org's 2nd Partner Day of the year as well as BE.IMPACT National Meetup along with the #ForwardImpact start-ups cohort.   🌈 Last but not least, we've decorated our office to commemorate Pride month, we've held summer afterworks in Luxembourg and Brussels, we've played golf with the Accenture Alumni community, we've played (and winned!) football games in the BX Brussels first inter-company charity tournament, the Empower Youth Cup, and we've watched the Euro Cup games in the office.   😎 The few upcoming weeks will be calmer as the holiday season starts to kick in.
