Pssst... want to know what is one key ingredient to making a good video game? 🤔 Skills! This is why fostering the next generation of digital EU citizens is important! We need to equip our future video game artists, programmers, developers, etc. with the right skills and tools to continue the success of our unique & creative industry. We believe this is the time to set EU-wide strategies to promote digital education, bridging the digital skill gap and encouraging girls to pursue STEAM programmes! How do we do this? Today marks the 55th anniversary of the launching of the Apollo 11 mission, the spaceflight responsible for landing people on the moon for the first time! The moon has been visited six more times in the following decades. Luckily today there is an easier way to visit the moon and learn about space! Earlier this year, the European Space Agency - ESA (ESA) collaborated with Fortnite to bring us 'Lunar Horizons', an immersive lunar mission game available to play inside Fortnite! The game offers a novel opportunity to learn about space missions, the moon, and ESA, while collecting resources and exploring the low gravity lunar environment. Video games are increasingly recognised by educators for their massive education potential! Games like Lunar Horizons give people an interactive environment to explore and learn about the space.
