About the Authors

Born in Hokkaido (northern Japan), Hiromu Arakawa first attracted national attention in 1999 with her award-winning manga Stray Dog. Her series Fullmetal Alchemist debuted in 2001 in Square Enix's monthly manga anthology Shonen Gangan.

Kousuke Oono began his professional manga career in 2016 in the manga magazine Monthly Comics Bunch with the one-shot Legend of Music. Oono’s follow-up series, The Way of the Househusband, is the creator’s first serialization as well as his first English-language release

About the Authors

Takeshi Obata first achieved international recognition as the artist of the wildly popular Shonen Jump title Hikaru no Go, which won the 2003 Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize: Shinsei “New Hope” Award and the 2000 Shogakukan Manga Award. He went on to illustrate the smash hit Death Note as well as the hugely successful manga Bakuman, All You Need Is Kill, and Platinum End.

Paru Itagaki made her debut as a mangaka in 2016 with the short story collection Beast Complex. Beastars was her first serialization. Beastars has won multiple awards in Japan and around the world, including the prestigious 2018 Manga Taisho Award, and went on to inspire a critically acclaimed hit anime series.

Junji Ito made his professional manga debut in 1987 and since then has gone on to be recognized as one of the greatest contemporary artists working in the horror genre. His titles include Tomie and Uzumaki, which have been adapted into live-action films; Gyo, which was adapted into an animated film. He is a four-time Eisner Award winner. In 2019 his collection Frankenstein won in the “Best Adaptation from Another Medium” category, and in 2021 he was awarded “Best Writer/Artist,” while Remina received the award for “Best U.S. Edition of International Material (Asia).” He also won his second “Best U.S. Edition” for Lovesickness in 2022.
