🌈 connectFirst was thrilled to sponsor the 2024 Centre for Sexuality’s annual Pride Brunch in support of Camp Fyrefly! This event is all about coming together to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the life-changing work being done to uplift 2SLGBTQ+ youth. But this year, we wanted to do something extra special. Along with our sponsorship, we surprised the Centre for Sexuality with an additional donation to help even more youth attend Camp Fyrefly. This means more young people will get to experience the support, acceptance, and pure joy that Camp Fyrefly offers—a place where they can truly be themselves and build lasting connections. We’re so proud to stand with the Centre for Sexuality and Camp Fyrefly in creating safe and empowering spaces for our youth.

Meet Devin Cooper, a Calgary-based country music artist and the driving force behind the Ride to Remember. He’s also one of Avenue Calgary Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40! After experiencing the loss of several family members to Alzheimer’s, Devin witnessed the incredible impact music can have on those living with the disease. He launched Ride to Remember in 2019—a motorcycle-inspired live music event that raises awareness and support for Alzheimer Calgary. We’re proud to sponsor Avenue Magazine’s #Top40Under40 and celebrate amazing people like Devin, who is making a difference for those affected by Alzheimer’s in #yyc and beyond. From riverbank clean-ups and teaching kids financial literacy to stuffing backpacks with school supplies and even pulling a City of Calgary fire truck, our branches are using their volunteer hours and NeighbourGood Grants to support a wide variety of community organizations and initiatives—and we couldn’t be prouder.
