If you're a content creator, chances are you don't get to read as much as you'd like to (or as much as you say you do, no shade). 😂 If that sounds like you, don't stress—we're reading all the business books so you don't have to, and will be sharing key takeaways from each for the creator economy. First up: No Rules Rules by Reed Hastings. So go ahead: spend 4 minutes swiping and then pretend like you read it yourself! 💪

An exciting personal update: I have a new website at www.sophiaamoruso.com As an investor, I spend endless hours with founders helping them refine their website design, messaging, and copywriting. I’m really good at it. It’s easy, however, for us to ignore our own websites. Over the years, I let mine atrophy. It was outdated, had little information, and embarrassingly, some of the links and newsletter opt-ins were broken. For several months now, I’ve been working with the amazing team at Course Studio to revamp my site and I’m proud to say that as of this week, it’s finally live! While I'm at it, here are a few tips for making a great personal website: - Make it clear front-and-center who you are. Don’t be afraid to brag a little. - Use whatever social proof you have, like testimonials or press logos for example. - Quantify your achievements: company revenue, number of clients served, or anything else that might be relevant to the person you’re trying to reach, and ideally do business with. - Make sure there’s a way to contact you and that it works. I can’t tell you how many websites I land on that have broken contact links. - Click on everything. Half the time there’s something that doesn’t work. And… do it for me! LMK if there’s anything broken, please and thank you.

A few months back my friend Megan was on a podcast called Creator Upload hosted by Tubefilter. I tuned in and loved it. It's a great 'lean back' podcast - listen every week and have peace of mind that you're getting the latest in the Creator Economy. Joshua and Lauren are an amazing hosting duo that I've been lucky to meet, and now call friends. Last week Lauren was 'running an errand', so Joshua asked that I step in and pinch hit on this latest episode... We talked about my favourite creator businesses, like this short clip posted below alongside friend and long time Course Studio partner Dr. Becky, new regulations about children appearing in their parents' content, and, of course, Hawk Tuah. Jamming with Josh reminded me how much I love this industry and community. Check it out and let me know your thoughts 🖐 Link in the comments!!
