We’re taking a visit to the city where it all started, London, Ontario, to celebrate another back-to-school project highlight. Introducing: Huron University🎒 The residence project – known as Burnlea Hall – involved the construction of a new six-storey, 311-bed student residence where the accommodations will nearly double its capacity including a dining hall, kitchen, and classroom space. Sustainability First🌿: A new indoor bicycle storage area has been built to encourage staff and students to use alternative transportation. The new Dining Hall will also have a fully integrated compost collection system built into the design of the Hall. With student move-ins complete, EllisDon is proud to have partaken in the construction of this new residence building! Earlier this summer, our London office organized a day to celebrate and recognize the hard work from their recent co-op cohort! “Investing in the future generation of workers in the construction industry is paramount and it brings us incredible joy to see each co-op student thrive and succeed under the leadership of our team in London.” - Randy Reymer Students had the chance to lead site tours and learn from fellow co-ops about other projects and insights from their time with EllisDon. “Observing different sites in London was fascinating and truly highlighted the diversity of our work. Leading the Huron University Residence tour made me feel acknowledged and proud to be apart of a wonderful team. Overall, EllisDon organized a fantastic day filled with valuable insights I will carry forward. Thank you to the London team for making students feel welcomed!” - Kayla Ewanski Interested in applying for a co-op position? Click below to learn more: https://lnkd.in/g_jPKtpE

EllisDon is proud of our partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) and of the Canadian Paralympic Team! Let’s take a trip down memory lane while we reflect on our years of partnership with CPC. We’re celebrating our education projects across the country for back-to-school – Next up: Centennial College’s A Building 🎒 The A Building Expansion at Centennial College was a notable development that added a new five-story building with a lower level, providing approximately 136,000 sq. ft. of new space and 16,085 sq. ft. of renovated area. Focusing on indigeneity and sustainability, the A Block Expansion became Toronto's inaugural post-secondary facility constructed with mass timber. It was assembled using over 3,600 cubic meters of cross and glue-laminated timber, all locally sourced from Nordic Structures in Montreal, sustainably harvested, and FSC-certified. It recently won the 2024 CAGBC New Construction Award by the Canadian Green Building Council! Read more about Centennial College’s A Building here: https://lnkd.in/dDRVHFsZ
