Business Interruption Insurance is becoming extremely important for businesses. The threat that business interruption poses to organizations became very clear during the COVID-19 pandemic. As businesses continue to recover from the impact of that global crisis, it is evident that business interruption remains a big risk across all industry types. Last week the FEI Vancouver Chapter hosted a seminar with Aon and the presenter was Kamila Polus (VP, Legal & Research Practice at Aon) who talked about a wide range of events that can impact an organization’s ability to operate, including natural disasters, cyber-attacks that take your business temporarily offline, or an equipment failure that brings operations to a halt. Business interruption coverage can be available to assist in such situations. Some of the attendees were Roger Bissoondatt, Carmen Cazares, Bill Chan, Peter Guo and Ghazal Fatourehchi CPA, CGA

VANCOUVER CHAPTER CFO ROUNDTABLE - SPRING 2024 CURRENCY OUTLOOK Date: April 10, 2024 Time: 7:30 AM Location: Fairmont Hotel Vancouver 900 West Georgia St. Vancouver BC INTO THIN AIR SPRING 2024 CURRENCY OUTLOOK CFO ROUNDTABLE Presented by Silver Sponsor Corpay Speaker: Karl Schamotta 2023 defied much of what we know—or think we know—about how interest rates impact economies and markets. Seemingly ignoring the pull of one of history’s most aggressive monetary tightening cycles, growth proved far more resilient than expected, markets kept climbing, and currency volatility remained on a stable footing. As 2024 gets underway, consensus forecasts suggest that a “soft landing” is ahead, with slowing inflation and still-robust labour markets seen supporting continued expansion in the US economy and a rebound in Canada. But the laws of economic gravity have not been repealed. The aftereffects of the largest increase in borrowing costs in more than four decades are only beginning to make themselves felt in the Canadian economy, the changes unleashed by the pandemic are still reshaping fundamentals, and policy uncertainties are set to rise as the US election cycle nears completion. A series of dislocations could take place in currency markets through the course of the year. Join us on April 10 as Karl Schamotta outlines the most plausible outcomes for the Canadian dollar - and explores the threats and opportunities that could be created for the country’s businesses as the global economy breathes increasingly rarefied air. Registration: Attendance will be capped at 25 and preference will be given to members and prospective members. https://lnkd.in/gPMSaX2F . #feivancouver #vancouver #events #financeprofessionals #BC #seniorfinance #professionaldevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #networking #corpay
