    Jacob Weigel and Jeremiah Hankerson founded Junk Runners, a Fairfax-based junk removal company after deciding to leave their demanding 9-5 jobs to pursue entrepreneurship. The duo wanted to create a business that combined hands-on work with community service, emphasizing donations to local charities. Disappointed with the lack of customer service in their previous jobs at another junk removal company, they saw an opportunity to improve the industry by focusing on charitable giving. Their efforts led to over $50,000 in annual donations and recently earned them a $10,000 Jobber Grant, which they plan to use to expand their business with a second truck. They aim to better serve the densely populated DMV area, where demand for their services continues to grow.     Meet Tara Shepherd and Chris Henderson, owner of Steady Does It Mechanical Services, LLC and 2024 Jobber Grants Recipients! 👋 Chris Henderson and Tara Shepherd are the co-founders of Steady Does It Mechanical Services, LLC, based in Lima, Ohio. Established in September 2022, their plumbing company focuses on delivering high-quality services while fostering community trust and integrity. With plans to invest their grant in a mini excavator, they aim to enhance project efficiency and increase revenue. They’ve built efficient processes to prioritize customer satisfaction through prompt responses, real-time updates, and automated communication. Their commitment to employee development includes training programs and career progression opportunities. Recognized as the 2024 Emerging Business of the Year, Steady Does It also empowers youth to explore the trades through a pre-apprenticeship program, ensuring a positive impact on both customers and the community. #JobberGrants is an annual grant program where we award 15 businesses with grants totaling $150,000. The program recognizes home service businesses for the excellent work they do every day and helps accelerate their plans for the future. 🚀

    It's #Hiring Monday again here at Jobber! Each Monday I highlight a different #SWE opening that we've got here in PD in Jobber. This time we've got a #SeniorEngineer opening on our 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 team, so lets talk about it! For most of our Fullstack positions we are mostly technology agnostic, but for the #Engineer(s) on our 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀 team we are looking for someone with a strong #Frontend, systems, and framework approach. We use #ReactJS and #ReactNative on mobile, and #Typescript for typing. This team is super interesting, since they support our 𝘈𝘵𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘴 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮, and help the rest of our more stream aligned teams generate new React components and build extensible, powerful UIs. This means that while they work closely with some of the most talented designers at Jobber, they also embed and support teams building a 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦-𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵-𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 for our Service Providers.
