Today, Quinn+Partners is celebrating the release of the report Scaling Impact Investing in Canada By Mobilizing Asset Owners. The report is the first initiative by the Canadian Impact Investing Working Group, a collective of 10 leading asset owners and asset managers looking to support the growth and scale of impact investing in Canada. Quinn+Partners is proud to have collaborated with the CIIWG on this important initiative. Based on research and interviews with 24 investors from across Canada representing 1.5 tn in assets under management, the report highlights the drivers, solutions and recommendations for asset owners to overcome barriers they face to engage in impact investing. Earlier this week, our Developing Leaders hosted a Lunch & Learn on “Navigating Sustainable Investing and Climate Risk in a Canadian and Global Context” at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP offices. Participants enjoyed an engaging discussion on how sustainable investing and mitigation practices are driving financial returns and long-term value while charting the course toward a greener and more resilient future. Some of the key learnings included: 1. Decision-makers are increasingly integrating sustainability into their financial decision-making 2. Sustainable developments tend to exhibit improved return metrics compared to non-sustainable developments 3. While Canada is making strides, Europe leads with best-in-class ESG policies and regulations 4. Retrofitting may not be an immediate necessity for all buildings, but it's a crucial step towards a sustainable future Thank you to our panelists, Daniel Pass, Director, Quinn+Partners , Colin Guldimann, Director of Sustainable Finance, RBC, and Ailey Roberts, Global Head of Sustainable Investing, BGO and moderator Julia Morassutti, Associate at Slate Asset Management for their insights. Stay tuned for updates on our next DL Lunch & Learn coming soon! #NAIOPToronto #CRE #Sustainability #SustainableInvesting #ClimateRisk #DevelopingLeaders

Earth Day gives individuals, companies, and governments an opportunity to reflect on the health of our planet and what we can do to protect it—now and for future generations. For Q+P, we had an early Earth Day celebration over the weekend: our 2024 WWF #ClimbForNature team—our biggest yet—climbed the steps of the CN Tower to raise money for wildlife conservation and natural habitat protection. While every day can feel like Earth Day for a firm like ours, the growing focus on nature among our clients and across industries gives us hope that this is a priority for everyone. Through our memberships in the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Forum and the Canadian TNFD Consultation Group, we are contributing to the implementation of nature-related disclosures and leverage those insights when guiding clients on the importance of adopting nature into their strategies. We feel fortunate to work with many sustainability leaders who, like us, see a future where nature and business can thrive together. #EarthDay #Sustainability #TNFD
