If you know us, you'll know that summer is a special time of year at RVA! ☀ Not only is it a chance for us to enjoy our Summer Fridays as part of our #4DayWeek - it's also officially office party season! 🎉 You may have already seen our posts about annual BBQs for different teams and offices across #Canada, as well as our annual party celebrated on a yacht this year! 🚢 Of course, we're thrilled to have optional Fridays off to recharge and spend quality time with our loved ones. But our office events are all about coming together as a team outside of meetings and emails to enjoy the simple pleasures that summer offers: longer days, warmer nights, and some seriously delicious food with the best company. Between the food, stories, and laughter, this summer goes on record as one of our most memorable yet! 🙌 Check out this video collection of some of those memorable moments 👉 . . . #OneRVA #RVAculture #SummerVibes #TeamBuilding #Engineering

We’re proud to be part of the team helping to keep Toronto cool! 😎 In case you missed it: our project with Enwave’s Deep Lake Water Cooling (DLWC) system recently made headlines! A huge congratulations to our partners over at Enwave Energy Corporation, City of Toronto, and Toronto Water on your most recent recognition! 🙌 This project is a transformative achievement in #greenenergy in #Toronto, and a big win for #sustainability in Canada. It is also internationally recognized by the #UnitedNations and has been published around the world. RVA has a long history with the DLWC system that began in the 1990s, during the system’s initial development. In 2001, our team also completed the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) for the original DLWC intake. Our involvement has continued with the DWLC Expansion from its initial concept in 2018 to its completion in 2024, a concept that we’ve nurtured from concept into reality. We would also like to acknowledge and congratulate the RVA project team, along with the entire DLWC-E project team, including (but not limited to): Alfa Laval, Armstrong Fluid Technology, Associated Engineering, AECOM, Alberici Constructors, Automated Logic Corporation, ASI MARINE, Baird & Associates, BTY Group, #CityofToronto, #theCHAway, Clearway Group of Companies, C & M MCNALLY TUNNEL CONSTRUCTORS, CSR GeoSurveys Ltd., Credit Valley Conservation Source Protection Authority, Dean Construction Company, #Enwave, Grounded Engineering, D.Z.Y. Drafting and Design, Hutchinson Environmental Sciences, Metex Corporation, Modern Niagara, Mulvey & Banani, Nalco Water, An Ecolab Company, Newmans Geotechnique, Sandale Utility Products - High Density Polyethylene Products and Services, Quantech Electrical Contractors, Siemens, Sprint Mechanical, Stantec, Thurber Engineering, TMP, #TorontoWater, Trivolt Electric, Valley Integration Inc, #WalterFedy, WSP in Canada Amazing work team! ➖ #OneRVA #RVAprojects #TransformTO #ClimateChange #Innovation #RenewableEnergy #Water #NetZero2050
Yesterday we had the opportunity to officially commission our Deep Lake Water Cooling (DLWC) System’s fourth intake expansion during a ceremony at our John Street Energy Centre. In partnership with City of Toronto Water, we are proud of this incredible achievement, which will bring the Toronto community greater access to more efficient and sustainable energy. This expansion began in 2021, and is a significant milestone for both Enwave and the City of Toronto – leading to an increase of the DLWC system’s cooling capacity by 60 per cent. It includes a three-kilometre pipe into Lake Ontario, drawing water at four-degree Celsius temperature through a newly built tunnel that extends under the harbour through to the John Street Energy Centre. With the expansion, our DLWC System is estimated to save 220 million gallons (832 million litres) of water annually -- equivalent to nearly 350 Olympic size swimming pools - and avoids over 60 megawatts of peak electrical demand from Ontario’s grid. Thank you to Her Worship - Olivia Chow, Mayor of Toronto, The Honourable - Sam Oosterhoff, Associate Minister of Energy Intensive Industries, General Manager of Toronto Water - Lou Di Gironimo, Acting Deputy General Manager with Toronto Water, William Fernandes for joining us at the momentous occasion. And a big thank you to our partners BTY Group, Modern Niagara, WSP, Armstrong Fluid Technology, C & M MCNALLY TUNNEL CONSTRUCTORS, Sprint Mechanical Inc and @TriVolt, as well as the Canada Infrastructure Bank/ Banque de l'infrastructure du Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada's Low Carbon Economy Fund. https://lnkd.in/exZiKZmG

Here’s a fun post of RVA’s Social Committee LOBbying for a great time! 🤾♀️🖐 The committee hosted a #LOB event on July 9th at LOB Toronto. What is LOB? It’s an indoor game that blends elements of bocce and golf in a 9-track course full of unique topography and challenges. Even if you don't know the rules of either bocce or golf you will be pleased to know it's a really simple game. Everyone had such a great time! Check out these fun pics of #OneRVA team members crushing their first ever LOB experience 🥇 . . . #RVAculture #Engineering #Architecture #Socialevents

What makes life at RVA so unique? Hear it from Newsha Roshani, P.Eng., our Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager in #Toronto! From an internship in a mom-and-pop consulting firm after graduating university to joining RVA as an engineer-in-training, Newsha has since grown to become a professionally recognized Mechanical Engineer with the additional progression of her roles as a Project Manager and an Associate of the firm. A transformation she now applies to supporting engineering interns as they begin their own path to evolution. A path made possible through the right leadership, support, teamwork, and desire. The importance of teamwork and non-stop learning has been essential to the growth of both Newsha’s career and the Mechanical Team. Together, the team has worked hard to be a part of exciting and diverse opportunities.
