✨ As one of the seven finalists selected to participate in the Quantum World Congress pitch competition, our CEO, David Roy-Guay, took on the challenge of showcasing our quantum magnetometer earlier this week. Competing alongside some of the most innovative minds in the field of quantum technologies, we are proud to announce that we have secured 3rd place! We would like to congratulate EuQlid and Qruise who came in 1st and 2nd place respectively for their insightful presentations! 🏆   A huge thank you to the organizers of this amazing event as well as the pitch competition judges for their time and involvement in order to make this possible! 🎉 ✨ En tant que l'un des sept finalistes sélectionnés pour participer à la compétition de pitch du Quantum World Congress, notre PDG, David Roy-Guay, n’a pas hésité de relever le défi et a présenté notre magnétomètre quantique plus tôt cette semaine. Entouré de quelques-uns de nos confrères les plus innovateurs du domaine, nous sommes fiers d’annoncer que nous avons remporté la 3e place! At the end of May, we had our annual SBQ Teambuilding Day - our time to come back to who we are, where we are headed and how we can perform more effectively. We also had the time to enjoy the nice weather for outdoor games! The day began with a presentation by our CEO, David Roy-Guay, on the company's values and the future vision. As for the afternoon, we took the time to put our heads together to discuss common challenges we face and came up with solutions that could be implemented to improve our efficiency to deliver on our vision. Being a deep tech company in quantum evolving in a high paced environment, it was great to get the entire team together, which has doubled since last year, to celebrate and bond together! À la fin du mois de mai, nous avons organisé notre journée annuelle de teambuilding SBQ - notre temps pour revenir sur qui nous sommes, où nous allons et comment nous pouvons être plus efficaces. Nous avons également profité du beau temps à l’extérieur pour jouer en plein air! La journée a débuté par une présentation donnée par notre Président et Fondateur, David Roy-Guay, sur les valeurs de l'entreprise et sa vision de l'avenir. Quant à l’après-midi, nous nous sommes réunis pour discuter des défis communs auxquels nous faisons face et élaborer des solutions qui pourront être mises en place. Étant une entreprise "deeptech" évoluant dans un environnement dynamique, c’était génial de rassembler toute l’équipe, qui a doublé depuis l’année dernière, pour célébrer et tisser des liens!

Last week, our CEO, David Roy-Guay, had the pleasure of meeting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Members of Parliament to discuss Canada’s role within the field of quantum technologies on an international scale, as well as the economic development in the Estrie region. David had the opportunity to share some of the various challenges that SBQuantum faces, as well as gain insight into the challenges faced by industry counterparts. We are proud to contribute to the expansion of the quantum sector, both locally and globally. All this was made possible thanks to Élisabeth Brière, who kindly extended an invitation for us to participate in this valuable round table discussion. La semaine dernière, notre président, David Roy-Guay, a eu le plaisir de rencontrer le Premier Ministre Justin Trudeau et des membres du Parlement pour discuter du rôle du Canada dans le domaine des technologies quantiques à l'échelle internationale, et pour le développement économique de la région de l'Estrie. David a ainsi eu l'occasion de partager certains des défis auxquels SBQuantum est confronté, ainsi que les enjeux auxquels les acteurs de l'industrie sont confrontés. Nous sommes fiers de contribuer à l'expansion du secteur quantique, tant au niveau local que mondial. Nous devons tout cela à Élisabeth Brière, qui nous a aimablement invités à participer à cette table ronde.

At SBQuantum, the arrival of Spring means that the winter semester interns are about to complete their internships and go on to continue their studies at Université de Sherbrooke. Since early January of this year, they have worked tirelessly and have made important contributions to our mission. To celebrate their accomplishments, our team tried out the sport of curling! While we may not be pros yet, we sure had an amazing time learning some new skills thanks to the team at the Club De Curling De Sherbrooke!  We wish to thank all the interns that were with us these past few months and we wish them good luck and great success in their academic pursuits!  Chez SBQuantum, l’arrivée du printemps signifie la fin des stages de la session d’hiver, et le retour en classe à l'Université de Sherbrooke pour nos stagiaires. Depuis le début de l’année, ils ont travaillé sans relâche et ont apporté d’importantes contributions à notre mission. Pour célébrer leurs réussites, notre équipe s’est essayée au curling !  Même si nous ne sommes pas encore des pros, nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir à apprendre de nouvelles techniques grâce à l'équipe du Club De Curling De Sherbrooke !   Nous tenons à remercier tous les stagiaires qui se sont joints à nous ces derniers mois et nous leur souhaitons bonne chance et beaucoup de succès dans leurs études.

Going from a quantum physics concept to implementation in quantum sensor prototypes can be daunting and risky. Through this Quantum Sensors Challenge Program, we have collaborated with Institut quantique - Université de Sherbrooke, McGill University and National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada to 1) establish the hardware requirements and sensitivity gains in a unlimited resource lab testing environment and single quantum system 2) port the approach to ensemble systems on SBQ's diamond quantum demonstrator platform running on Keysight Technologies QET, refining the expected performance gains 3) prototyping performance and HW constrained electronic boards to integrate to our diamond vector magnetometer 4) validating the sensitivity gains Result: 10x sensitivity gains tested and implemented in under 12 months!
