Fall is around the corner, and with it comes the busiest time of the eCommerce year. UniUni is preparing for what’s expected to be a record-setting October to December for parcel volume. State-of-the-art robotic sorting tech—efficient, fast and more than 99.95 per cent accurate—is being deployed in more warehouses. And we’re constantly improving our software and systems, so they work better for our clients. These are a couple of the many ways UniUni is innovating the last-mile delivery sector to ensure tens of thousands of registered drivers across North America deliver the goods.

UniUni is proud to have senior airport advisor Wayne Duzita as an integral part of our growing team. While his industry knowledge and North America-wide network play important roles in guiding UniUni’s future, his reputation as a selfless community leader was equally important in deciding to welcome him into the UniUni family. It’s no surprise that Wayne was honoured this week with the King Charles III Coronation Medal, for his outstanding contributions to the province of B.C. and the community overall. Making the presentation to Wayne was Richmond North Centre MLA Teresa Wat, on behalf of @Governor General of Canada Mary Simon. Congratulations, Wayne! We’re proud to be associated with you.

UniUni CFO Michael Yang will be among seven C-Suite cohorts to be recognized by Business in Vancouver (BIV News) at the 2024 BC CEO/CFO Awards in October. The C-Suite Awards are presented by a judging committee who felt that Yang’s “extensive leadership, the contributions you have made within your sector, and the impact your work has had on B.C.’s communities is deserving of this recognition,” wrote Hayley Woodin Hastings, Editor-in-Chief of Business in Vancouver. At UniUni, our commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact, has led to a pair of key new partnerships. In Canada, UniUni works with Carbonzero (Canada) to offset greenhouse gas emissions from last-mile deliveries by investing in third-party verified carbon-offset projects. Carbonzero is an industry leader in greenhouse gas measurement, reduction and carbon-offsetting solutions since 2006. To address its mid-mile emissions, UniUni partners with veritree, a Vancouver-headquartered data-driven restorative platform that connects nature-based solutions with mission-driven companies. UniUni was named a finalist in the 2024 Technology Impact Awards, one of 38 finalists who have “achieved exceptional success” in nine categories, according to BC Tech. “The Technology Impact Awards recognize the very best companies in B.C. and the accomplishments of the leaders and teams in B.C. economy’s fastest growing sector,” said Rich Osborn, chair of the BC Tech Board. UniUni is a finalist in the Excellence in Industry Innovation category, and was named this week, along with Operto, Spring Financial, This Fish, and Triumf. The winners in each category will be announced at the TIAs gala on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Parq Vancouver. Peter Lu, co-founder and CEO of UniUni, said being named a finalist among so many other successful companies, is a true honour. “We recently celebrated our fifth anniversary, and the theme was Together for Tomorrow. To get where we want to go, we need to continue to work as a team. The UniUni team, including Peter Lu, Kevin Wang, Tony Shi, Yuanli (Lily) Zhao Jing He and Martin van den Hemel, recently took part in Deloitte’s Fast 50 gathering at their beautiful Downtown Vancouver offices. It’s always a treat to connect with the key people behind other successful local companies, and we met a few of them during the Deloitte meet-and-greet social event. Sometimes, it’s simply about learning how other companies have carved out a successful niche in the vast marketplace. That includes Hydreight Technologies (TSXV:NURS, OTCQB:HYDTF) Technologies Inc. and Operto. But sometimes, a chance meeting can result in recognizing a potential partnership opportunity, as was the case with meeting Kayvan Pishghadam, from Envo Drive Systems Inc. Thanks, Deloitte, for a fun event in a great venue that connected UniUni with an impressive network of people and businesses.

Together for Tomorrow UniUni has come a long way in five short years, through hard work and dedication powering a singular vision to disrupt the e-commerce delivery landscape and offer an economical, tech-driven solution to our customers. Special guests recently flew into Vancouver to attend the Fifth Anniversary Celebration at VanDusen Botanical Garden, which highlighted many achievements over the years, honoured key staff for their countless contributions, and offered a glimpse of what’s possible in the years ahead. CEO Peter Lu said that together, anything is possible. And appropriately enough, the theme of the anniversary celebration was Together for Tomorrow. Co-founder Kevin Wang, president of UniUni Canada, and Scott Wang, president of UniUni United States, both said UniUni’s future looks bright. Retired CFL all-star Angus Reid’s keynote speech served as a reminder that the road ahead will likely contain many challenges, and will require even more focus and effort for the UniUni team to reach its goals.
