Sulemaan Ahmed is a serial entrepreneur and the Co-Founder and Principal Educator of Servo Annex, a Toronto-based company which provides hands-on coaching to senior executives on how to leverage all digital platforms, social media and mobile tools to drive business results.

There is nothing better for an educator than to quietly watch others lead by example and exceed their own expectations of personal and professional success.

A sought-after digital expert and trusted advisor, he has trained the C-suites of Fortune 500, Owner-Operated and privately held companies across the globe, and works closely with global organizations including Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) and Extraordinary Women on Boards (EWOB). Prior to cofounding Servo Annex, Sulemaan held senior positions at Apple, Sears and Air Canada.

As a result of a tweet of his that went viral, Sulemaan has also become an advocate for families whose children are affected by “no fly list” restrictions, a successful drive for change that gave him valuable first-hand experience with the power of social media in creating a movement. Once again leveraging his social media expertise in the face of need, he Co-founded and became the CEO of Conquer COVID-19, the largest grass-roots movement to source critical PPE supplies to front-line health care workers across Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic, and raised over $2.4 Million and distributed over 3 Million pieces of PPE across the country in four months.

Worked full-time as a flight attendant with Air Canada while putting myself through university.

During flights I would teach executives how to use their Palm Pilots so I guess it's true about coming full circle in business and life.

  • Dad creates No Fly List Kids group after NHL hockey trip gone bad

    Montreal Gazette

You might remember my son Adam. He and I were on the front page of the Montreal Gazette sports section wearing the famous red, white and blue jerseys of the Canadiens in January 2016.

No, we weren’t skating for the Habs. Adam, who was six at the time, was falsely flagged on Canada’s no-fly list. Every time he travelled, we couldn’t check in online, we had to go to the airport much earlier and once while travelling internationally, our passports were confiscated.

The situation came to a head in December 2015 when Adam and I were on our way to the NHL Winter Classic game in Massachusetts featuring the Bruins and the Habs. He was flagged — again — and as a long delay was underway, I discreetly took a photo of the check-in agent’s screen showing Adam’s status.

I tweeted about the situation, the Gazette article appeared, and all hell broke loose. Hundreds of families from across Canada contacted us, as did adults who also found themselves on the no-fly list.

  • Why are Canadian children still on no-fly lists – and what can be done?

    The Globe and Mail

It’s New Year’s Eve and our six-year-old son is teeming with excitement to go watch his beloved Montreal Canadiens play in the NHL Winter Classic.

Before he can board the flight from Halifax, he must wait to be cleared to fly by Air Canada. He was flagged on the Canadian no-fly list.

Having experienced this same scenario numerous times since Adam was six weeks old, we tweeted asking Air Canada why our six-year-old Canadian-born child was on the DHP (“deemed high-profile”) no-fly…

Having experienced this same scenario numerous times since Adam was six weeks old, we tweeted asking Air Canada why our six-year-old Canadian-born child was on the DHP (“deemed high-profile”) no-fly list. We attached a photo taken two weeks before of a check-in agent’s screen while she was making the call to security.

We had no idea that one tiny tweet would generate national attention and inquiries from international media. That attention and support from Canadians galvanized us as we set off on a six-month journey to uncover the truth...

Solution - NBC leveraged LinkedIn Sales Navigator in combination with a curriculum developed by Servo Annex (executive education firm) to position their Wholesalers as thought-leaders and reach new Investment Advisors with training on increasing business results through LinkedIn.

Results - Clear increases in sales for NBC Wholesalers and elevated social media profiles for Investment Advisors who received LinkedIn training. In combination with the educational curriculum, the results from this digital initiative exceeded expectations by generating over 400% return on investment to NBC within the first 10 months.

Over 3 months NBC wholesalers held more than 250 meetings with over 500 investment advisors where training was provided on how LinkedIn could be used within the financial services industry. By strategically leveraging digital and social media through platforms such as LinkedIn, NBC has positioned itself as an innovative leader in the financial services industry and positioned NBC wholesalers as sought-after experts.
