A Cedar Rapids man, who was charged in an online child enticement sting last month, faces another charge.

Kenneth Ruby, 43 of Cedar Rapids, is now facing a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators said Ruby contacted a spoof profile of a 15-year-old girl and then requested nude photos. The profile was actually created by police.

Ruby was initially arrested and charged on June 12, 2024 for a sex offender registration violation.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department went undercover on social media to engage with those who thought they were talking with a minor under the age of 16.

They arrested seven men, including Ruby.

If convicted, he could be sentenced up to 25 years for the sex exploitation charge and two years for the registry violation.
