In Cedar Rapids, several boating ramps and roadways are closing down as waters continue to rise along the Cedar River.

Right now, the Cedar River is at minor flood stage in Cedar Rapids. Water levels are sitting near 13.5 feet.

Iowa's News Now spoke with Tom Ulrich, Operations & Readiness Officer for Linn County Emergency Management, Friday to talk about flooding.

"We want people to remember though with even the moderate, low moderate flood stage -- even minor flood stage -- we can see bank erosions," Ulrich said. "Things become unstable along the edges of the river, so don't got walking up to the edges of the riverbanks. Do not drive through flooded waterways."

Officials at the National Weather Service (NWS) said those levels are expected to crest at "Moderate Flood" stage or at 14.5 feet by early Saturday morning.

No major impacts are expected at this time. But, travelers and boaters may face some inconveniences.
