Abreu went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 14-7 win over the Mariners.
Abreu had what may have been the key at-bat early in the contest. He worked a full count and fouled off several pitches before delivering a two-run single on the 12th offering as part of Boston's seven-run third inning. It was the fifth consecutive game with an RBI for Abreu, who is 6-for-14 with six RBI during that span. With runners in scoring position, Abreu his hitting .328 with a .920 OPS.

Abreu entered Friday's game as a pinch hitter and went 1-for-1 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in a 9-7 win over the Yankees.
Abreu was one of several Boston batters to come up with a key hit late that turned New York's 7-4 lead into a Red Sox win. He doubled in a run as a pinch hitter for Tyler O'Neill in the eighth inning and scored one batter later on Masataka Yoshida's two-run single. An inning earlier, Ceddanne Rafaela hit a two-run blast to shift momentum. Abreu is strictly a platoon player and is batting .281 with an .863 OPS against righties. He should return to the starting lineup Saturday against right-hander Marcus Stroman.
