  • Mariners' Mitch Garver: On bench Thursday

Garver isn't in the Mariners' lineup versus the Angels on Thursday.

Garver will get some rest after starting in the last six games in which he went 4-for-26 with two home runs. Mitch Haniger is taking over as the designated hitter Thursday and is batting eighth.

  • Mariners' Gabe Speier: Rehab appearances set

Speier (shoulder) emerged from throwing live batting practice at Petco Park on Tuesday feeling healthy and will make rehab appearances Thursday and Monday, MLB.com reports.

Speier will actually kick off his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma in Albuquerque on Thursday before moving down to the Mariners' Arizona Complex League team for Monday's outing. If both appearances go well, Speier will likely be activated ahead of Seattle's first series coming out of the All-Star break against the Astros, which begins July 19.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Grabs 16th steal Wednesday

Moore went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in a win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Moore delivered one of the Mariners' four singles on the night and also continued inching closer to surpassing the career-high 21 steals he recorded in both 2021 and 2022 by swiping his 16th bag of the campaign. Moore has also hit safely in four consecutive starts, but his .213 average still leaves plenty to be desired.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Earns 15th save

Munoz earned a save against the Padres on Wednesday, walking two and striking out two over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Munoz struck out Jurickson Profar with two outs in the eighth inning and worked around two walks in the ninth to secure his 15th save of the season. The righty has yielded just one earned run over his past 10 appearances and is 15-for-17 in save chances this season. He owns a 1.45 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 45:16 K:BB over 37.1 innings.

  • Mariners' Bryce Miller: Throws six scoreless in win

Miller (7-7) earned the win against the Padres on Wednesday, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out one over six scoreless innings.

Miller worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the second inning and then cruised from there despite generating just six swinging strikes on 80 pitches. This was the righty's first quality start since June 12, but he has now yielded two earned runs or fewer in five of his past six outings. He will take a 3.63 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 98:29 K:BB into the All-Star break.

  • Mariners' Jonatan Clase: Back in majors

The Mariners recalled Clase from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Dominic Canzone (groin) and could see some playing time in the outfield while Canzone is on the 10-day injured list. Clase has struggled in his brief time with the big club this season, producing a .406 OPS over 35 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Placed on IL with adductor strain

The Mariners placed Canzone on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right adductor strain.

Canzone initially suffered the injury during Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays while making a catch and then aggravated it while running in Tuesday's 8-3 win. He'll be eligible to return from the IL shortly after the All-Star break, but it's uncertain whether Canzone will be ready for activation at that time.

  • Mariners' Victor Robles: Contributes as in-game replacement

Robles entered Tuesday's win over the Padres as a defensive replacement for Dominic Canzone (groin) in the bottom of the fifth inning and went 1-for-2 with an RBI double.

Robles initially slotted into Canzone's right field spot before shifting to center in the bottom of the eighth. The veteran doubled home Cal Raleigh in the ninth inning for the final run of the night as well, and he could be in line for some spot starts if Canzone needs some downtime due to his injury.

  • Mariners' Jorge Polanco: On base three times in win

Polanco went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run in a win over the Padres on Tuesday.

It was a rare multi-hit effort for the struggling veteran, who'd last accomplished that feat May 4. Polanco had been mired in a 1-for-12 skid over the previous four games entering Tuesday, a brief but nightmarish stretch where he'd struck out in eight of his 14 plate appearances. Polanco's season slash line still stands at a career-worst .196/.288/.289, and with the sample size now having grown to 219 plate appearances, it's fair to wonder how much improvement it will realistically see over the remainder of the season.

  • Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Two more homers in Tuesday's win

Raleigh went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-run homers, a double and three runs scored in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Padres.

The switch-hitting Raleigh was able to accomplish hitting a home run from both sides of the plate Tuesday night. He began with a two-run blast in the third from the left side and then matched it with a two-run shot from the right side in the seventh to put the Mariners up 7-0. Raleigh has just 62 hits this season and is hitting .210, but 17 of those have gone for home runs, leading to 55 RBI, which is tied for second among catchers. Raleigh has never been a guy to hit for much average but has always made up for it in the power department. His 74 home runs since the beginning of 2022 lead all catchers in the MLB and his 17 homers this season are the most by a Mariners' catcher before the All-Star break. The 27-year-old is slashing .210/.295/.414 and is on pace for career highs in home runs and RBI.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Triple shy of cycle in win

Rodriguez (quadricep) went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Padres.

After he was out of the lineup for the Mariners' previous game Sunday while he managed a quad injury, Rodriguez took back his spot in center field for the series opener in San Diego. He began his night with an RBI single in the first inning and later padded the Mariners' lead with a towering blast to left that landed in the second deck. Rodriguez doubled in the seventh for his fourth hit of the night before he was eventually replaced in the eighth inning as a precautionary move with the team up big. Rodriguez still maintains a disappointing slash line of .256/.354/.658 for the season, but he's been hot to begin July with a 1.229 OPS.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Picks up easy win

Gilbert (6-5) got the win Tuesday over the Padres, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over 7.2 innings.

All three runs against Gilbert came at the tail end of his outing. He allowed a solo home run to Jake Cronenworth in the seventh, and Kyle Higashioka added on with a two-run blast in the eighth to force Gilbert's exit from the game. Tuesday was just the third time this year he's allowed multiple home runs in a start, but also was the first time this season he's picked up a win while allowing more than one run. The 27-year-old recently was named an All-Star for the first time in his four-year career, and rightfully so, as he sports a 2.94 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 115:25 K:BB in 125.1 innings so far. He lines up for a Sunday start against the Angels this weekend before the league heads into the All-Star break.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Nursing groin injury

Canzone exited Tuesday's win over the Padres after feeling discomfort in his groin while running, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Canzone said he initially suffered the injury while making a catch during Sunday's contest, and it flared up in the fifth frame Tuesday while running to second base on a double. He's slated to receive an MRI on Wednesday, which will help determine his availability for Seattle's final stretch of games before the All-Star break.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Removed early Tuesday

Canzone was removed from Tuesday's game against the Padres with a possible injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

The Mariners haven't yet provided an official reason for Canzone's early exit, but the 26-year-old outfielder did appear to be in some pain while running after hitting a double in the fifth inning. He'll head into the clubhouse for further evaluation, and more information on his status should be released in the near future.
