Cory Dowd began his career in the Florida House of Representatives while attending Florida State University. After graduating with a bachelor’s and master’s degree, he quickly ascended into a leadership role as Policy Advisor to Speaker of the House Jose Oliva where he specialized in legislative appropriations.
In addition to his legislative experience, Cory served in the Executive Office of the Governor as a Policy Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez focusing on cybersecurity policy and aerospace economic development. He later served as Governor DeSantis’ Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs where he was tasked with passing the Governor’s bold agenda through the Florida Legislature. Cory would later go on to hold key leadership positions within the DeSantis administration, including serving as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Florida Department of Education.
