RISC-V combines a modular technical approach with an open, royalty-free license model -- meaning that anyone, anywhere can leverage the IP contributed and produced by RISC-V. A great summary of the current status of CHERIoT has been shared by Microsoft in this recent RISC-V International blog post: https://lnkd.in/e52py9jS. It explains how RISC-V extended with CHERI technology can prevent a wide range of exploits and vulnerabilities in microcontrollers. We are excited to see our ongoing work with UK Research and Innovation on the Sunburst Project highlighted! The Sonata FPGA development board we have developed as part of Sunburst makes it easy for engineers to get hands-on experience with the open source CHERIoT Ibex core. lowRISC has also been working with Microsoft to help verify this core. The Sunburst project was funded by Digital Security by Design (DSbD) and UKRI [grant number 107540]
