Fireworks can be sold in the City of Omaha from June 28th through July 4th each year ONLY with a city issued permit.
Fireworks applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office and are only accepted between November 1st and November 30th.
The Fireworks Committee can approve a maximum of 40 applications each year. The approval is done in a public meeting at the end of December or the beginning of January. There is a $2,500.00 permit fee that must be made within ten (10) days following approval from the Committee. Also, at the time of payment, approved applicants must submit a Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $300,000.00 per occurrence, $1,000,000.00 general aggregate, listing the City of Omaha as an additional insured.
