Springdale Resort Cottages

Springdale Heritage resort in Vandiperiyar offers a platform to be close to nature. The resort was an adaptive reuse of an old hotel building and a cinema theatre. Even though it was in the midst of the village of Vandiperiyar, the main aim of the design of the guestrooms and public building was to capture the visual grandeur of the Periyar river and the plantations. This tropical retreat is an exploration of possibilities where people live in harmony with nature. Mists rise in the early morning from the rainforest surrounding Amanjiwo, while volcanoes stand in watchful silence along the horizon. An ethereal sense of serenity resides at this spot at the foot of the Menoreh Hills, where the peaceful presence of neighbouring Borobudur seems to inform the atmosphere. Rice paddies descend like emerald stairs in the surrounding landscape and cultural exploration awaits in Java for those of a curious disposition.
