Chair is commissioner of transportation, with a co-chair appointed by the governor. Members must have relevant experience in the automotive industry, technology, cybersecurity and data privacy, business and finance, transit, higher education, workforce training, insurance, mobility, freight, labor, public safety, bicycle and pedestrian advocacy, elder care, or tort liability. Twenty ex-officio members include the commissioner of Administration, Agriculture, Commerce, Employment and Economic Development, Health, Human Services, Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation, IT Services, Pollution Control Agency, Public Safety, Revenue, Chair of the Metropolitan Council, Executive Director of the Minnesota Council on Disability, one member of the majority party in the Minnesota Senate, one member of the minority party in the Minnesota Senate, one member of the majority party in the Minnesota House of Representatives, one member of the minority party in the Minnesota house of Representatives, one tribal member designated by the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council, one city representative designated by the League of Minnesota Cities and one county representative designated by the Association of Minnesota Counties.
