A Grand Eomantic Scene, exhibiting, on the left, acluster of lofty hills, covered in part by pine and other trees;and on the summit of one of them is a cottage, with a quantityof timber scattered near it. A gurgling stream flows amongrocks the whole extent of the picture, from right to left, andon a rugged bank in front are a clump of four old trees, andthe bole of a pine tree lying on the ground. A few figuresare seen on the hill, and a flock of sheep is browsing on theside of a bank. An evening twilight effect prevails. 4 ft. by ift 6 in.—C. Now in the collection of M.
