Whilst the root problem has been fixed (see Commons:Village pump for details) affected pages will need to be purged to make them show the images correctly. Please check the image description pages before removing apparently missing images from pages.

Unlike images uploaded on other projects, images on Commons can be embedded on pages of all Wikimedia projects. The Commons was launched on September 7, 2004. Currently it contains 103,934,411 collections. There were Template:NUMBEROFMEDIAFILES media files on Template:NUMBEROFMEDIAFILESTIME, excluding weather and market data. If you would like to participate actively in the project, read on below. To let other people upload photos or other files for you, you can use the Commons:File upload service or a special program.
