Faces

Incorrect bounding box

With regards to File:Escudo_misericordia_san_fernando_juanjo_ruiz.png, the log page shows a red box inside the thorns on the right of the image, where there is no face. (the face appears inside the thorns on the left side. So, I see this as a failure. AbdealiJK / DrTrigon, please correct me if I am wrongly interpreting the log page. File:Josh Miller.JPG is correctly identified as including human faces, but the bounding boxes are in the wrong place.

File:Les Andelys PM 094534 F.jpg as above. Despite the incorrect bounding box, a human reviewer wouldnt be overly bothered by them. John Vandenberg ^(chat) 04:15, 29 August 2016 (UTC)

Caricatures as human faces

File:Kanikasami Madras Sappers 1.jpg is IMO a correct face detection, whereas DrTrigon has marked it as ambiguous. It would be nice to have better detected it as a caricature, or otherwise identified it isnt a real face, but it is a good depiction so the "Human faces" is appropriate, if not ideal.

File:Lekeleke_or_Kuamoo_Burials.jpg is also reasonably categorised as "Human faces".

File:Lemcke-Hugo-1915.jpg is a depiction of a human face, but it is fairly easy to detect that this is a normal photograph of a real human face, and should have been better categorised.

File:Lenin DHM.jpg is as above, but possibly not as easy to detect as a statue.

File:Leonarda da Vinci - Isabella d'Este und Mona Lisa II.jpg is reasonable.

File:Leonardo Alagon, marchese di Oristano.jpg is reasonable.

File:Restauración Carmen Coronada.jpg is ok.

File:Victor_hugo_160.jpg wouldnt pass a human reviewer, even if the bounding box was shown. Likewise, File:சைதாப்பேட்டை குருலிங்க சாமிகள் ஜீவசமாதி கோயில்.jpg is not a human face.

Summary

I agree with the four obvious failures identified by DrTrigon. I also consider one of the incorrect bounding boxes to be a failure, and the last ambiguous art cases to be a failure.

In all three cases the size of the 'human face' is tiny compared to the image - it is quite clearly not the objective of the image to be a representation of a human face.
