Description
English: Gud Khobra Modak is a Maharashtrian dessert which is usually made during the Maharastriyan festival of 'Ganesh Chaturthi'. It is offered to Lord Ganesh for ten days during the festival. Gud Khobra Modak is the type modak that uses 'Gud' (Gud means jaggery) and 'Khobra' ( khobra means coconut) as its stuffing. It is started by rolling flat the refined wheat flour dough and then cutting little circles out of it. These circles are then stuffed with jaggery and shredded coconut mixture and is closed in plated fashion after applying little water around the circumference to prevent fissure while frying. The modaks are then deep fried till golden-brown.
